About Me

CHECK OUT MY .. PHOTO ALBUM!!
Check out some of my posts on www.mountainproject.com
Hey all! I'm a resident and proud property owner in the C&C of Denver. I work in the construction management industry, running work out in the field. In my free time I love playing softball & volleyball. I'm a huge baseball fan, and on some Friday nights you can find me out in the Coors field bleachers yelling out to my bro Matt Holliday. When people ask me "what do you do?" I try not to respond with my job description. In the summer months I try to travel all over the state. I am into trad climbing, climbing and my favorite place to climb is "The Park", aka Rocky Mountain National Park. I've also climbed in Joshua Tree, CA, and I can't wait to go back! I have done a lot of mountain biking in the front range and also down in Crested Butte. However, when the snow falls I am living my true passion: snowboard-mountaineering. In the winter I hit up all the big pow stashes around Mt. Evans and the Indian Peaks, all while training for springtime when I hit up as many sick lines on the high peaks as I can find. I'm still close with my buddies back home and every now and then we get together in Las Vegas or Miami to live like rock stars for as long as our wallets will allow!

My Interests

GLISSE ALPINISM (Google that!) If it involves adventure, count me in. Jack of all trades, master of none. Splitboarding. Trad rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, rafting, water skiing, surfing, mountain biking, big game hunting, golf, kickball, softball, cooking (& eating!), good whiskey, Budweiser on tap, German sports cars. Huge sports fan, but baseball and football are my fav. White Sox fan born and raised, but since they won it all the Rockies are my team now. Check out my photos at http://lucabrasi.myphotoalbum.com/

Just a good woman...that's all.

Music:

I love all music, rock, country, reggae, hip hop, EDM, jazz, blues. I am loving the new resurgance of thrash metal that has come around recently. Some modern artists I am listening to are The Killers, Dragonforce, Children of Bodom, Matisyahu, Rise Against, Bullet for My Valentine, All That Remains, Sean Paul, Gym Class Heroes. In no particular order, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Pantera, Megadeth, G n' R, Zepplin,Pink Floyd, Ozzy, Stones, AC/DC, Sublime, Rage, Stabbing Westward, Van Halen, Stevie Ray, Kansas, Eric Clapton, the Beatles, Norah Jones, Cyprus Hill, Eminem, Lil' Jon...Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Mars Volta, Paul Van Dyk, Wu Tang Clan, O.A.R., Britney Spears, Frank Sinatra, Korn, Manson, Phish, L.A. Style, Skynyrd, Mercyful Fate, Red Steagall, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Skid Row, Testament, Tom Petty, the Killers, U2, the Used, Alabama, The Yardbirds, Motley Crue, KISS, Maiden, Hoobastank, John Coltrane, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, George Thorogood, Exodus, Del Amitri, Machine Head, Gretchen Wilson, Toby Keith, Matisyahu, Sean Paul, Daddy Yankee, Pitbull...did I put Jimi Hendrix in there? Well if not there he is.

Movies:

I like a lot of movies but I'll just list my top eleven. (Keep in mind that I love all the Star Wars, Rocky, and Lord of the Rings movies, but I'm not going to include them for sake of space)

1. The Godfather
2. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
3. Apocalypse Now
4. Caddyshack
5. Tombstone
6. Akira
7. Breakfast at Tiffany's
8. Animal House
9. Seven Samurai
10. Enter the Dragon
11. Equilibrium

I pretty much love any action, adventure, and drama, plus a bit of classic comedy. Anything with Stallone or Schwarzennegger. I get amped up watching extreme ski movies by Warren Miller and Teton Gravity Research.

Television:

I'm hopelessly addicted to Baseball Tonight. In the non-sports world, HBO pretty much has it when it comes to TV. I've been following the Sopranos since season 3, I also love Entourage. Bubblegum Crisis anime series.

Papa Bear: The Life & Legacy of George Halas; Books about the Mafia, history, or war. Adventure Capitalist by Jim Rodgers, America (the Book) by Jon Stewart, The Godfather (Mario Puzo), Jackdaws (Ken Follet); Star Wars books, Lord of the Rings; "Who's Looking Out for You" by Bill O'Reilly, "Dads, Dames, Demons & a Dwarf" by Mancow; Chinese Philosophy, X-Men comics, anything by Hunter S. Thompson (RIP).

Reflections on the return from Chicago

Every time I go back to visit, I am constantly asked by all my friends "when are you moving back to Chicago?" and I usually reply "no chance in hell".  However, if I was passionate about somethin...
