Music & colors are one. You color your world how?

About Me

Will Mariner was born and raised in Boston, MA. He left Boston at an early age, traveling this diverse country where he discovered blues and R&B in the south. He eventually returned to the Boston area where he organized and sang in several different bands of varying success. Moving to Los Angeles, he became the lead singer in Apogee . During that time, he rubbed elbows with the likes of Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker, Jennifer Warnes, Leon Russell, Steely Dan, Neil Young and studio musicians who'd pick up on his original songs and embellish them with Will in the studio. Will Mariner has shared the stage with performers such as Blood Sweat & Tears, Wilson Pickett, The Young Racals, Rick Derringer, The Beach Boys, The Animals, The Drifters, Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels, The Shirelles and many more. It was in Los Angeles that Will walked away from the music business and turned to other pursuits. One such pursuit was the writing and narrating of children's stories. His interest in writing never left him and although he no longer performed in public, he continued to write and develop his style of writing. Will is still writing and is now performing as a solo artist and as a band member at various night clubs in New England. Music, once again, is fun! And with that fun is the desire to share it. His influences are many but here are just a few: Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Jimmy Reed, Lefty Frizzell, Al Hibbler, Sarah Vaughn, Dina Washington, Nat King Cole, Fats Domino, Otis Spann, Willy Dixon, Professor Longhair, Randy Newman - the list could go on and on... How does one escape the influences of strains of music one hears which elevate the soul, evoke the passions and expand the canyons within one's mind?
