Veils Of Darkness: Formed in October of 2002 under the name Children Of The Past when Jaime found out that Davey could play the drums, he asked if he wanted to get together to make some noise. After they hit it off the search was on for a bass player. There were many guitar players but no bass, which made the search rather difficult. Couple of weeks passed and then Flavio came along. Originally coming from drums, Flavio had picked up his brothers bass over the summer and started learning some tunes. Little did they know he didnt actually play bass. The three got together after many failed attempts and decided that the three were going to need a fourth filling in on vocals. People came and went and didnt get serious till one day Flavio brought his brother over to a practice session. Turns out his brother had tornado sirens for lungs and had picked up the guitar over the summer after playing bass in previous musical experiences. Decisions where made line ups where changed and it came to be that Gabriel would now be doing vocals completing the band. Shortly after the band being exposed to Black Sabbath's heavy metal riffs, the four had the same vision in mind and the same influence of dark heavey music running through there veins. They started covering Black Sabbath's music to get themselves going. Through connections they got to audition for the management of La Justicia restaurant. Giving it all they had, mesmerizing the manager with an all time favorite War Pigs. After getting the spot at La justicia, many things started going right for the young group of guys. Opening up for some of the top bands in mexico on some of the bigger stages of chicago. (Leprosy, Garrobos, Genitallica,(Congress Theater, The Bottom Lounge, Volcan) The band had a great run doing Black Sabbath covers but knew if they were to get the proper exposure and respect, they would need to step there game up with there own material. Turns out that wasn't the hardest of challenges. Even after having there own songs and being a little older they were still under the vision of being a Black Sabbath cover band. Thus Veils Of Darkness being born. After a name change and a re-assignment of responsiblities, Veils Of Darkness is out to remind people of the roots of metal with a hint of modern brutality.
