About Me

I was born in West Hartford, inspired by the Beatles to play the guitar. At 14, I got into the bass, played in garage bands. Meeting Grayson Hugh was a big influence on my musical tastes: the intro to jazz, blues and more eclectic music. I dropped out for a few years, but came back in '77 fully committed. I've played every kind of gig imagineable. In 1990, I met Jaimoe of the Allman Brothers Band and we became fast friends and bandmates. Through him I met Dickey Betts and an opportunity to audition for the Allmans on bass. I came in 2nd, but when Dickey left them, I was asked to join his band. I did that for 4 years and we did 2 cds, too. In 2000, my solo cd, "Dangerous Canoes" came out. I am currently freelancing and playing alot of blues and great rock with Andy Aledort and the Groove Kings. He is a great guitarist and is with Dickey Betts and Great Southern. I play with the newest edition of Jaimoe's Jass Band and also work with And So, led by Hal Benoit, a very talented songwriter and performer. Grayson Hugh has put our old band back together for a new cd with all new material. The drummer is the very well known, world travelled, Rob the Drummer. The guitarist is Tom Majesky who is also a great singer. Tom and Grayson toured alongside the Jack Bruce and Dickey Betts bands in the late 80s. The Grayson Hugh band that I was in was of the 70s and 80s. The new cd is going to be great!david stoltz I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
