I was once a Victim... I understand...

My Step-Father was physically and verbally abusive for almost 20yrs to my Mom and I. The scars never go completely away, tho the Lord IS faithful and will deliver you from the trauma. He can and He WILL deliver you from the situation, if you will turn to Him and those He has placed in your life to help you.

If you are a Woman who is involved in an abusive relationship there IS help for you... You don't have to stay, you don't have to wind up a statistic... You can be free to live life as the Lord intended, apart from fear and abuse. You ARE worthy... please... contact the Hotline above, tell a trusted friend or relative... or even me, email me, I will do all that I can to assist you. If you are the Mother of a Child who is being abused, or if you are a Child who is being abused, please contact a Teacher, or someone in Authority, a trusted friend or neighbor or relative, SOMEONE... you don't have to live this way, you don't have to live in fear. Domestic Violence is a CRIME and YOU are the Victim.

But remember... there IS hope...

I had gotten "The Champion" by Carman on CD in '85 but I didn't pay close enough attention to his Ministry until four years ago when my Sissy re-introduced me to him... As it turns out I am in such awe of him and have such respect for his stand and work for Christ
Now... tell me this isn't one of the most beautiful smiles you've ever seen....

I've been a Dean Martin fan since I was 3, a Tom Jones fan since I was 7 and a Bee Gees and Andy Gibb fan since I was 11.

Dean was actually my first love. Long before I could even think about saying his name correctly I was totally and absolutely head-over-heels for "Dean Maaaaaaatin".
I still miss him, so much.

Here's Tom, another of my original Favs :)
I've seen him so many times in concert, he has one of the strongest voices I've ever heard and he puts on a magnificent show.

I enjoy so many different types of music by so many different Artists, there are just too many to name. Any given day may find me humming to an old Bobby Darin tune, or you may overhear me singing Martina McBride's latest... I love music, all kinds, and I always have. For a small sampling of some of my Favs check out my MySpace friends...

I will freely admit to being a die-hard Disco fan and an old-time Country music fan and I just love all the old classics in both genres :)

Books:

Way too many to even remember, let alone name but my VERY favorite of all is of course God's Word, the Bible :)
I also want to give special mention to Misty McGlugritch's book, N.A.I.L.S. If you don't have a copy you MUST get one, it is so inspiring and uplifting.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE anything by Chuck Swindoll. I am also rather fond of Charles Stanley. Another fav is Joyce Meyer. I also enjoy Joni Eareckson Tada, Billy Graham, Joel Osteen, T.D.Jakes, James Dobson, and Max Lucado. One of my life-long passions has always been reading biographies/auto-biographies... I love reading about other people's triumphs and struggles.
I suppose now that you've seen what a HUGE supporter of Carman I am it goes without saying that I also love his writings, The Champion, and his second novel, Undefeated in Love and War, both excellent books. If you've never heard The Champion on audio book you SHOULD. It is a wonderfully done edition, Carman does all the voices himself. Heroes:

My Mom - she's the BEST
My Dad - he's such a Sweetheart of a Man
My Sissy - she's adopted me as her Sister, and well, I couldn't love and don't love even my own blood Sister any more than I do Cindy
My Grandpa - he was an ordained Minister and loved the Lord so much. He helped start several Churches in our area and worked tirelessly for the Lord for a good majority of his life
Carman - his stand for the Lord has inspired me in so many ways, encouraging me to strive even harder for Christ.
I truly admire him and respect him and his Ministry
There are others, countless other Heroes of the Faith that I admire and respect... anyone who is born again and not ashamed to make that stand for Christ, who loves the Lord and strives to serve Him... well... they're all Heroes then, aren't they.
I'm also so very respectful of the men and women who make their profession as firemen (or firewomen)... my Grandfather was a fireman before he resigned to become a Minister of God and I lost a cousin in the line of duty as a fireman. These people who dedicate their lives daily to helping others in this way are truly Heroes in my book.
And of course, last but most certainly not least, our Soldiers. Thank God for the men and women who have so bravely defended our freedom for so many years.

I love the Lord and hope to someday be able to stand before Him and hear the words "Well done, Thou good and faithful Servant." I am a LONG way from getting there but I try
I am part Irish, part Scottish and the rest American Indian :)
Someday I hope to visit Ireland and Scotland. I would also love to visit Italy, I adore ALL things Italian, always have :) I love the People, the Culture, the Traditions, the Country, the food, the music... I have since I "fell" for Dean Martin :)
I work as a Buyer of medical products at one of the largest hospitals in our area (we have 10,000 employees) and LOVE my job and knowing that I touch people's lives every single day. No matter how small the item... from bandaids to cotton swabs... and no matter how big... IV fluids to custom trays and carts... something that I "buy" affects patients and their care and I'm proud to know that I can help so many.
I'm a computer fanatic who adores creating cards and stationary and other items with graphics. I also love to knit and someday hope to own my own shop with my Sissy.
I love the mountains but I also love the beach, they're both such majestic creations of our Lord :)
I love love love Walt Disney World... I've been twice and plan to someday go back. It is such a wonderful, magical place :)
I was an undiagnosed Juvenile Diabetic. All these years the disease was left to run rampant in my body, but Praise the Lord I'm now on the right insulin and have finally begun to see improvements in my levels where before there were none. Meds don't seem to agree with me at all and my system is really senstive so it's not easy having to depend on drugs to survive. The Diabetes has damaged my legs, I have Neuropathy which means that the nerve-endings are damaged and as a result I live with CONSTANT pain. It's also damaged my insides which causes tremendous discomfort most of the time.
But... the Lord is good and He never fails me :)
