I'm a 23 year old bumpkin on the outskirts of LDN in Hertfordshire. Been writing lyrics for about 4 years now ever since i heard Ol' Dirty Bastard's "N***a Please" album. I figured if ODB can make a living writing about filth and not making too much sense then so can I. Unfortunately I haven't got anything as awesome as the Wu-Tang as a platform. I do however have Gie (my producer) master of the cut and paste. He can take an old random sample and put it to a new break and then we let loose.
I started getting into Breakbeat music when i was about 13 or 14 through Hip Hop while the rest of the UK was busy "Avin it large" to Trance and the like. From Hip Hop i got interested in Drum n' Bass and after discovering my mouth doesn't move that fast I decided to have a crack at mixing. Learnt to mix in the Jungle Shed despite the Broom Man's objections through the medium of hammering and kept at it for about 3 years solid untill the Jungle Shed was knocked down to make way for a garden path.
After I hooked up with The Fracture Zone i had to change my weapons of choice because D-Dub-Skratch had the Jungle rythms on lock and can scratch like a man posessed by the ghost of somebody very good at scratching. So i moved on to Breaks and have loved it ever since - so much less aggresive and more of a groove. Stanton Warriors thank you very much.
So that's where I am now. Mixing Breaks, writing lyrics inspired by testosterone with Gie and more grown up lyrics with The Zone (when we find time to get together). Gie and I have had two tracks featured on www.hiphoe.com which is cool but onward and upward eh?
Also big thank you to Lectric Lex for providing a picture of her gorgeous self for Lollypop. Check her out - it's all good. Thanks Lex.
