About Me
Chanise Renae was born and raised in New Jersey. Growing up, she immersed herself in dancing classes, piano lessons, gymnastics, and loved to perform whenever she had an audience. Her first solo performance was at the age of four, when she did her 1st talent show which she performed a ballet combination. Throughout grammar school and middle school Chanise was involved with many talent shows and continued with her lessons.
When high school started Chanise participated in the Sears Model's Club, and got the chance to model fall fashions for Sears. After that, she left the spotlight because she wanted to try new things. She also tried out for the track team and ran varsity for 2 1/2 years. During that time, she broke many individual and relay school records.
In the middle of her junior year Chanise quit the team because she wanted to be in the spotlight once again. Later that year, she auditioned for the 1st drama at her high school "The Crucible.. in which she won the role of Tituba. Since then, Chanise has been found in the spotlight.
The first year Chanise started college her talent was discovered by an independent music company producer (W.A.L.J. Productions Inc.). He heard Chanise sing and asked her to sing lead and background on a CD, that he was making for his wife's book "Someone To Love". That same year she also started singing "The National Anthem" at stadiums and events.
During the next years of college, Chanise stayed in the spotlight enjoying the possibility of a performing career. She continued acting, singing, and dancing by being involved with several community theatre groups in which she had some solid roles. She had the opportunity to be a part of the New Jersey premiere of "The Wild Party" in which she played the role of Mae.
Chanise also had the opportunity to be a state and talent finalist for the American Co-Ed pageant. As a non-equity & nonunion performer, Chanise was invited to sing as a guest performer and given a solo song, with the equity/union Acapella Christmas Caroling Group, "ISMILE in New York Productions". In 2004, Chanise was the youngest adult semi-finalist who competed in a state-wide vocal competition for Singin in New Jersey. Though she did not make it to the finals, later that year, Chanise got the opportunity to perform the National Anthem, as a soloist, for the Philadelphia 76ers (Wachovia Center). In 2005 Chanise went out for the same competition because they made a junior category (ages 18 - 24), which was more suitable for her age. Chanise made it to the finals and was named runner-up.
In May 2005, Chanise Renae earned a B.A. in Communications at William Paterson University. Now that she is done with school, she has the opportunity to concentrate on her singing career. To date, Chanise Renae has been invited to perform for numerous charities, sports teams, parades, and local events. For more info on Chanise Renae log onto: www.chaniserenae.com
