From his very first efforts in Greece with a tape deck and a belt-drive turntable, Mr. Stoim knew that all he wanted was to become a D.J. Listening to his favorite local D.J.s on the radio and using his father’s record collection of old soul and funk he developed an early hunger for dance beats with emotional vocals and phat basslines. He spent endless hours paying close attention to the magic that was happening in the d.j booth and sought out after the tracks that moved their dance floors. He studied piano for 6 years in the music schools of his city until he spread his wings wide open to new horizons. With a part-time job at the local record store he started collecting records from different music genres and keeping a more open-minded vision about music and entertainment. While still in high school, he started his first mixing shows at the local radio stations where he got to introduce his trademark sound and perfect the art of D.J.ing, constantly experimenting, practicing different forms of deck – wizardry and working on a uniquely personal programming style. He got various residencies in small bars and pubs but really it was the underground parties where his unparalleled talent really unraveled. His legendary, extended house sets allowed him to mix and smoothly blend everything from jazzy & soulful house, to raw, dirty tribal, beats and progressive sounds. That way he got to bring out his different sides creating an interesting musical diversity that somehow instead of being confusing it totally made sense. College placed him in Athens where he got to do what he always loved on a larger scale, while in the summers he would sail away to the islands to spread his sounds on sandy, sun-drenched beaches and party boat cruises around the Aegean. His passion for traveling introduced him to the biggest clubs and dance festivals of Europe. After college he sets roots in Canada where he currently resides, to do what he’s best known for. Share his passion for music in the most intimate and uninhibited way. Take you with him on a journey to a different world. A world where everybody’s happy to be a part of.
