Hope for the Dying started in November of 2006. Josh Ditto, James Houseman, James Redcloud, Brice Voyles and Jack Daniels bring together some magnificent pieces of musicianship in their soon to be released self-titled EP. The band is just a year and a half in the making, and already they have progressed to great lengths and are quickly establishing themselves as one of the Midwest's finest metal bands.
Their first demo, released in early 2007, consisted of three songs that quickly gained familiarity and popularity on the local scene. Those same three songs were distributed at shows, as wells as on iTunes, Amazon, Real Rhapsody, and many other digital distribution sites. "In Loving Memory", "Our Fallen Comrades", and "Would the Angels Say" were then re-recorded to go along with four new songs on the aforementioned up-coming EP. The new EP covers a wide range of things, including the band's struggles in their personal lives, and most importantly it expresses their faith in Jesus Christ.
2008 brought new and great things to the band; namely a start-up contract with local Indie-label "Drop Something Records." DSR made the new CD possible as well as a complete makeover for the band with new merchandise, pictures, and promotional spots in HM Magazine.
Currently the band is upping their game, practicing hard, and preparing for a rigorous summer schedule that includes a seven-day appearance at Cornerstone Music Festival (www.cornerstonefestival.com).
