My name is Cleotis A. Chambers and I was born in Detroit
Michigan on November 28,1977. I am the founder and CEO of
Umpyre Records. Rap was something that I played around with in high school but never took seriously until years later. My little brother and friends started playing around with rap a couple of years ago and I always thought they had talent. One day I had a crazy idea to start a lable because I saw talent where people say talent was dead,in the heart of the Eastside of Detroit in the ghetto. Young men putting their pain,struggles,lose,
hopelessness,goodtimes and bad into lyrics and even into
jest sounds.It amazed me how a story of hard life and pain can talk to someone in a song. I always loved music but this music was unique,I had never heard it sound like they made it sounds. What I heard was reality,a reality created by these young man in Detroit, a voice not many thought could exist in Detroit.I put these young men together and challenged their talents,to make it sing in the ear of the most unlikely person. We rallied together to put this label in a working station. I put all my money into this dream,it still is in the works but so far the results have been breath taking. WE have YUN FLAME,UNEXECTE(bloodlyne),
DUTYME and YUN CA$H and others in the works.It has been a hard journey but my time,money,and sweat has helped me put together a phenomenon that the world is waiting to hear,a sound that is coming from a silent community in Eastside of Detrot. Success is in the wings waiting for us and we are fighting for a chance to show the world our type of voice,one so loud it will shake the world. Opportunity is not around here not like other places so thats makes it hard but we are no strangers to hard work;ourlives is hard work. I would like to take this time to thank my wife,
