About Me

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Clyde Gailes was exposed to the entertainment industry at the age of seven through his mothers work as an entertainer and his uncles who were dancers for well-known dance groups around Detroit City. He grew up around such artist as Detroit’s Most Wanted, F.D.C. (From Detroit City), Smiley, MC Breed, Boss, George Clinton, Coole Supreme, and the list goes on. At the age of 10 he joined his elementary school band as a percussionist, later leading his middle school and high school bands, during which time he advanced into instrumentation, going on to become one of Detroit’s elite producers. In 1993, inspired by the Wu-tang Clan, Clyde started creating his own lyrics. Joining with some friends and family, he formed a group called the Wicked Clique, from which the name Lord Wicked emerged. The Wicked Clique manifested the group The Streets Finest, which describes an alliance amongst Detroit labels including Black Rose Music, Swat legion records, Umpyre records, The Community, N-Diss, East Jeff and others. In 2001 Clyde joined the group Phantom Lords. In 2002 they released their first album entitled “Phantom Life” which sold over 2,000 copies. In 2004 he and fellow labels released “The Streets Finest Volume I”. Which sold over 3,000, but either group did not have the promotion nor the finances needed to reach the highest standards they could’ve achieved. With a new goal in mind, Clyde formed his own label called Stacklynn Records and started recording as GangstaClyde. He created a new sound within the Hip-Hop community, which he calls “Stack Music” within the genre of what he has coined “Urban Rhythm”. To establish his rightful place in the music business, G. Clyde is doing whatever it takes to celebrate the future of Urban Rhythm.GangstaClyde is the embodiment of Detroit Hip-Hop. He has witnessed the evolvement of Hip-Hop as a whole, and has also evolved himself and his music into what is soon to be legendary. From doing shows with some of Detroit’s finest, to rocking shows in Atlanta, New York, and Cincinnati, Producing soud tracks for The N.Y. times, solo Artist, Groups, and setting the streets on fire, let the truth be told that the man known as GangstaClyde is soon to make His-Story
