Sounds Like: Rhysmix is Tom Bellamy, the man also responsible for the majority of the electro bleepiness in the now disbanded CooperTemple Clause.
Bellamy started off as a guitar player but soon found himself more interested in the guitar pedals than the guitar itself. This interest in sounds led Tom into the land of keyboards and synths which is where he has set up camp ever since. After a few years with the band he began to represent them as a DJ, playing sets wherever people would accept him. Regular sets soon gave Tom an insight into dance/rock remixes.
In his spare time, while waiting for the Coopers to release their third album Tom was inspired by the likes of Soulwax and Simian Mobile Disco and decided he would give remixing a go and set off doing this to the band's first single "Homosapiens". This somehow found it's way into the legendary hands of Eddy Temple-Morris and was soon heard getting weekly airplays on Eddy's Remix show. It was also included in the remix bombs of the year on XFM (that's good i'm told!).
Tom then had the confidence to remix some of the Cooper's other singles and now hopes to finish the whole album in the next few months.
In January, Eddy joined Tom in his studio to remix Belgian band Goose, mixing Tom's love of electro and Eddy's passion for pendulum-esque hooks.
After hearing the remix of "Head", Eddy invited Tom to do a half-hour superchunk mix on XFM, which comprised a selection of some of Tom's favourite remixers including artists such as Teenage Badgirl and newcomers Does It Offend You Yeah?
Recently, Tom has begun writing under the name of Rhysmix (see "Feared by the other children" on his myspace page www.myspace.com/rhysmix)
