Straight from a mountain valley containing a so-called Zion where any one can be considered a saint despite possibly having a total disregard for the welfare of humanity in general, and never even being thoughtful enough to have an act of mercy under their belt. A place where being a nonconformist is profitably sold through the fashion industry, and counterculture music has lost it's purpose and meaning through sold out crowds, in which the majority's only thought behind rebellion is being a teenager. An environment in which you're told to join a side, but you can't even see any point in disobeying the rules of one group to follow those of another. From this dystopia emerges a band who thinks reasonably and knows they can't change a thing about it, they can only hope to speak to the people who try to overcome the oppression of ritual, standards, and guidelines to try and find something called a life. This band is called "God City."
A four piece punk hardcore band attempting to avoid just going with the formula, and not going through the motions of what's popular to just sound like the top bands of right now. Commercialism is devoid in the writing process of every song, never compromising what feels ethical and personally preferable to the sound . The music moves in many different directions to give each song a different personality, from fast paced and heavy, to slow and epic, with dueling vocals that are harsh, desperate, and manic, and lyrics that deal with fighting ignorance, personal religious struggle, and the many different philosophies of rebellion. God City is something that punk has forgotten, deviant.
