About Me

My name is Susan Mattinson.I'm a writer who finds my niche in the Cyberpunk and Speculative ("what if") genres, but I have been known to write magic realism, general fiction, and occult/horror.****My short story "Custom Appraisal" will be published in the upcomming anthology "Beacons of Tomorrow: Vol.2"! Look for it in bookstores early July, 2008!!!*****My short story "A Matter of Luck" was published in the Winter 2006 Issue of "Reality Complex" Magazine, and I placed in the quarter finals (top 10%) of L.Ron Hubbard's "Writers of the Future" Contest in fall of 2004.I was one of three winners in all of Canada for a Teachers's Association international writing competition and I placed third in Cancopy's Copyright Literacy Contest a few years after. I have also had a piece e-published on LitBits.ca (and more)I am currently attending the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton in my fourth and final year of a B.A, Major in English: Creative Writing.Current Literary Work:Working on my first novel.Myspace Backgrounds

William Gibson, the father of Cyberpunk; credited for coining the terms "cyberspace" and "virtual reality" before they actually existed.(Plus, he's Canadian!)Stephen King, master of plot narrative and character development, no matter how bizarre the situation.Aldous Huxley, because he just plain rocks.
