Mackenzie Yoon

I was born on June 5, 1993 in Chuncheon, South Korea. I came to British Columbia, Canada at the age of 4, and attended 4 schools in total: Champlain Heights Annex School, Nestor Elementary School, Moody Middle School, and my current school, Maple Creek Middle School. Next year, I'll be moving onto Pinetree Secondary.I've been playing to guitar for about 3 years now, ever since Grade 5, and I compose most of my songs on the guitar, some for the band compilation. The only one that I got recorded was for the S.A.S.S. contest, "Songs That Make A Difference," and that was "Keep It Up." I performed at the S.A.S.S. Year-End Recital at Como Lake Middle School last year, along with my other songwriting friends and classmates. You can see me and my songwriting friends perform at Heritage Woods Secondary this year on May 16 and 17. I'll be at one of those dates. Support youth songwriters like me and my friends!I've been tutored for 21st century songwriting by David Blair and Don McLeod, the BC S.A.S.S. tutors. David Blair had produced my song, "Keep It Up" for the songwriting contest, and even helped me fix up some parts of the song for the final copy.I currently live in Coquitlam, BC, Canada, and am Grade 8 at Maple Creek Middle School. My hobbies are usually songwriting (obviously!), singing (also pretty obvious!), writing novels, drawing and writing graphic novels (preferably the korean "manhwa" style), writing fan fictions for Artemis Fowl and Pokemon at the time, and nothing else. I also play the piano.This is my final year as a SASS student, before I become an alumni of the School Alliance of Student Songwriters (unless SASS comes Pinetree...). By then, I'll probably start posting up my songs a lot more at a monthly rate than an yearly rate. Also, I might have a chance to get signed with people like Sony Records, etc. at the Year-End Recital this year! You can check out the venue for more details about that!
