About Me

"I hope my achievements in life shall be these - That I will have fought for what was right and fair, that I will have risked for that which mattered, and that I will have given help to those who were in need that I will have left the earth a better place for what I've done and who I've been." - C. Hoppe

My Interests

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness or abilities that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn"It is not merely the likeness which is precious ... but the association and the sense of nearness involved in the thing ... the fact of the very shadow of the person lying there fixed forever! It is the very sanctification of portraits I think - And it is not at all monstrous in me to say that I would rather have such a memorial of one I dearly loved, than the noblest artist's work ever produced." - Elizabeth Barrett BrowningPLEASE JOIN MY FRIENDS IN SIGNING THE GUESTBOOK BELOW SO THAT I CAN KEEP YOUR PICTURE AND COMMENT ON MY PAGE PERMANENTLY. "We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey." - Stephen Covey"To touch the soul of another human being is to walk on holy ground." - Stephen Covey

I'd like to meet:

I WOULD LIKE TO MEET CREATIVE PEOPLE WITH INTELLIGENCE, COMPASSION, HUMOR, WIT AND A PASSION FOR LIFE. PLEASANT, CARING, HONEST, GENUINE, COURAGEOUS AND EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. I BELIEVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE AND VISITING NEW PLACES IS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN, GROW AND ULTIMATELY, EVOLVE AS HUMAN BEINGS ......"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain
25 THINGS ABOUT ME
Name: Bonnie
Birthdate: September 9, 1969
Birthplace: Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - My father was a American soldier of Scottish descent (hence my name) stationed in Vietnam and my mother is Vietnamese.
Home: Although I live in New York now, I grew up in California and I will always consider it to be home.

Hair Color: Naturally brown, but it varies depending on the season and my mood.
Eye Color: They naturally change from very brown to brownish green - I guess Hazel.
Tattoos/Piercings: Most people are surprised to find that I do have a small tattoo of a butterfly on my right ankle.

Favorite Food: Lobster (not that I have it much)
Favorite Drink: Sweet and fruity red or white wine
Favorite Animal: My Pug Rosie is the sweetest dog ever!
Favorite City: Several: LA, San Francisco, New York and Chicago

Drink Alcohol? Occasionally
Smoke? Since I don't want my children to smoke, I don't smoke myself
Worst Habit: Biting my nails down to nothing and constantly cracking my knuckles.
Morning Or Night Person? Ask anyone who knows me and they would definitely tell you that I am a night person. I am the MOST grumpy morning person ever!
Summer Or Winter? Neither. I LOVE the sights, sounds and smells of fall! Check out my poem on my blog.
Beach Or Mountains? I'm from Southern California - Beach of course!

Love Or Money? Without a doubt - Love! I'm not sure what kind of person would actually write money here.

Believe In God? Yes, although I have a lot of questions for him/her.
Dream Job: Travel writer. What could be better than getting paid to do what you love most?
Dream Vacation: Anywhere on a warm beach with family, friends and a tropical drink with a little umbrella in it.

Regrets? None. I have learned something valuable from every life experience - Good and bad.

Pet Peeves: Rude people (there's no need for it), bad grammar (what's the point?), the tired phrase LOL (enough already), musicals (annoying how they keep breaking into song!) and remade films (are there no screenwriters in Hollywood with original ideas?).

Something Interesting About Me: The fact that I lived in Tehran, Iran for a while as a child. My father worked for an American Aerospace company there.
Things I Would Like To Do: Travel through Europe (particularly England, France and Italy), write a book (creative nonfiction), learn to play the piano (my favorite musical instrument), take photography classes (I see the beauty in everything) and learn to fly a plane (single-engine). Ambitious I know, but I still have time.

Music:

"Music is the poetry of the air." - Jean Paul Friedrich Richter

Movies:

"A film is never really any good unless the camera is an eye in the head of a poet." - Orson Welles

Television:

"There's a good deal in common between the mind's eye and the TV screen, and though the TV set has all too often been the boobtube, it could be, it can be, the box of dreams." - Ursula K. Le Guin

Books:

"A room without books is a body without a soul." - Cicero

Heroes:

"I am only one, but I am one. I can't do everything, but I can do something. The something I ought to do, I can do. And by the grace of God, I will." - Edward Everett Hale
