About Me

'One in a million!!' was the chance the experts predicted they'd turn out like they did.Aged just 18 months after only their seventh gig the band were labelled "musical, monkey, genius!" by none other than retired quiz master Jim Bowen of Bullseye fame. Jim clearly buzzin and on a natural high went on to add "its not often that a band of monkeys come along armed with a bunch of empire tunes like these", "I recently went to see the Arctic Monkeys at Barrow-in-Furness Forum 28 and was massively disappointed", "For starters they're not even real monkeys and they were really average on the night", "However, The Island Monkeys are the real deal and here to stay to rock my boat for some time".After turning on a bunch of people including Bowen the monkeys left their island on a supersonic jet plane and travelled via LA to Gatwick and now live in Brighton with all their new friends. All proud spaniards from the ages of seven the Island Monkeys are also famed for remixing such household names as Black Lace, The Chuckle Brothers, Snow Patrol and were the uncredited masterminds behind the transformation of the Cheeky Girls from simple chart act to credible electronica artistes. The band are now working with Peter Crouch on a possible Christmas single, thought to be a cover of Robbie Williams' "Angels". This was after they refused point blank to assist Take That in the production of their comeback album. A source close to the monkeys was quoted as saying 'the boys were more than happy to resist the advances of Gary Barlow and co.'In little time the Island Monkeys have evolved into a musical monster of epic proportions. Now you too can share in the experience. Please watch this space for details......Best wishes and your friend always.Ray Parker Jnr.
