Who is Alicia C., and what’s she all about?Alicia C has often been described as a vocalist with a dynamically powerful and anointed voice that’s housed in a ‘little’ package. This young yet evidently seasoned recording artist has broken onto the gospel music scene like a well-needed breath of fresh air. And… she’s only just begun. Born in the Bronx, New York, Alicia began singing in her church choir when she was just 14 – shortly after she came to know the Lord - and she’s been singing to His glory ever since. A fiery Evangelist who is known to be an effective preacher of the Word, Alicia takes great pleasure in ministering via the gifts she’s been given. But, it’s in singing that she finds the greatest fulfillment. Her passion for singing the gospel, combined with her distinctively anointed vocal talent has brought this gifted singer/songwriter before various audiences. And though she’s been a well-kept secret within the gospel community, 2007 was no doubt the year she was unveiled to the world –albeit to God’s glory. With an upcoming breakout album nearing completion, Leech – as she’s affectionately known – already has her listening audiences waiting anxiously for its release. A prolific gospel songwriter in her own right, she’s been blessed to have an opportunity to work with the renowned music producer, K-Black and the Delray Entertainment organization on her current project. K-Black’s gift as a producer is very evident on Alicia’s smash debut single, ‘Gratitude’ a/k/a ‘the happy song’ - a song that glorifies the Lord with a distinctly joyous and festive feel to it. The upcoming album is aptly entitled, ‘It’s Time’, since it introduces the gospel in a refreshing way, through an anointed vocalist/psalmist who has been hidden away for a time such as this.
