Steve Bennett started playing acoustic guitar at age 11. He started by picking up an acoustic guitar that his sister had stored in the attic and learning songs from her songbook.
With two 8 track tapes; Neil Young's "Harvest" and The outlaws "Green Grass and High Tides" to learn from, he was on his way to a career that would bring him from New Hampshire, Boston,Texas, Mississippi,Colorado, California and eventually New York.
His first paying job was at 15 years old in a bar in Milford, New Hampshire playing Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin and Neil Young songs. He had to get his hand stamped "Underage", to play, but it was the beginning of what would be 26 years of making music professionally.
At 41 years old, Bennett has had a number of memorable jobs.
He played in a metal band Critical Force at the Whiskey a GO GO in LA in the height of the 80's Metal scene, opened up for Al Jareau, Rick Derringer and the Outlaws in various bands. Played a 3 month tour in St. Thomas with a well=respecteed fiddle player from New York. Toured on the Easyrider circuit with a southern fried band "Firestorm", playing at the Last Resort in New Smyrna Beach, Florida,
Now a singer songwriter in upstate New York, Bennett has recorded 2 albums at his home studio and played all instuments, sang and produced all material
