Musico Roots primary focus has been spoken word poets, urban fashion shows, the night life & musicians. I try not to confine myself to a specific genre and am continually expanding my borders into many aspects of the artistic community.
Early 2007, I stepped away from behind the camera & on stage into spoken word; speaking my own words. There's nothing like it & I can't get enough of it! Altho' I have a lot to learn, I'll stumble & fall, get back up again just so I will be able to speak & say what I mean to say & tell it exactly how I want to say it....I, am your MUSE...
The camera & I, are still one & the same....there's no way I could leave it behind...I love both equally! & yes, I've names my camera: Its name is Oscar....be sure to say hello.

One of the Musico Roots projects is an internet interview segment called "Verbalize." Based on the idea that everyone has something to say & this is a tangible way to help get that message broadcasted.
Our motto is "R.S.V.P.":
Realize, Strategize, Verbalize, Personalize
Realize what's going on in your community & beyond
Strategize on how to get involved
Verbalize/Speak up about the things you believe in
& Personalize it...make it your own.
Silence suffocates.
Verbalize amplifies the voices that need boosting & integrates a variety of audiences. Independent artists are creating stepping stones for expression & making impacts within the community; not just the "brand names."
Musico Roots is all over the metroplex capturing artists at work; helping bring a voice to their craft. My job is to capture images of life in the making. I believe it helps makes us & our work continue to exist even when we have stopped.

In November 2007, the Dukes of Dallas asked me to help manage their group. We're in the process of restructuring & its seems I'm spending more time with them, helping them out with their shows, props, etc. I love the stage, even when I'm not on it. Back stage is perfectly fine by me, except when it comes to spoken word. I'm El Mero Mero of the 'boys'.
