With trembling hand I turned toward her and pushed the hair out of her eyes. The kitten jumped back

About Me

book devourer, avid biker, guitar wielder, synth tinkerer, record collector, cat enthusiast, nature lover, cautious observer, conversation artist, tea addict, awkward flirt, inebriated singer, attentive listener, indulgent sleeper, soma explorer, truth seeker, love hunter.

I think I make good company.

.. .. Considerate Creator

I will most likely end up as that quirky college professor who wore too many layers. I am comfortable with this fate.

I decided at age 20 that "Like a Rolling Stone" will be played at my funeral. Perhaps also at my wedding if I should ever have one. I am unwavering in this decision.

You scored as Existentialism. Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.
Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.
It is up to you to give [life] a meaning.
--Jean-Paul Sartre
It is man's natural sickness to believe that he possesses the Truth.
--Blaise Pascal

Well, I'll see what I can do...

My Interests

DELIGHTS: conversation, coincidence, conscilience, creative processes and expression, the brain, reasoning and debate, learning, sharing, growing, humor, androgyny, songwriting, writing, minimalism, drifting through varying states of consciousness, conservation, cultivation, photobooths, the cello, being with nature, biking, thrifting, cuddling, sleep, and music, always music

DESPISES: LYING, waste: of time, of words, of potential, of money, of human life, waste is awful, closed minds, flaunts, philanderers, and fiends

I'd like to meet:

people who bike a lot.

someone who will fund my trans-siberian railroad trip.

Music:

Despite all the amputations you could just go out and dance to a rock'n'roll station and it was all right......

Anything with handclaps, ba-ba's ,na-na's, la-la's or doot-doo's, blips and beeps, filter sweeps, minimalist orchestration, experimental percussion, epic climaxes, shifting dynamics, new-wave, shoegaze, dance-punk, electro-funk, krautrock, twee-pop, underground, found sound, musique contrete, big beat, music that makes me laugh, music that makes me dance, and the music of memory...

Current spins: Nick Cave, Interpol, New Order, Lee Hazelwood, Neil Young,

I will listen to anything Brian Eno, Phil Spector, Ennio Morricone, or John Cale have ever touched

I just have to say, that if you can't get down to Al Green or Sam Cooke then you don't have a soul. Call me callous, but but it's just my opinion.

Movies:

film noir, screwball comedies, spaghetti westerns, sci-fi, space opera, post-apocalyptica, cyberpunk, neo-noir, dark fantasy epics, dark comedy, the last five: Blade Runner, Paris Texas, The Proposition, His Girl Fridat, The Royal Tenenbaums

Television:

Arrested Development, Deadwood, Battlestar Galactica, Six Feet Under, Keith Olbermann's vitriolic retorts, Charlie Rose interviews.

Books:

lately: Cormac McCarthy, E. Annie Proulx, Don Delillo, Denis Johnson, Warren Ellis

Heroes:

Cultivators of the mind, Tailors of the written word, Lovers of the precious and fragile, Innovators of culture and humanity, Manipulators of sound and color, Venerators of form and function
