"Probably the most motivational event of our lives." Lead singer Jesse referring to Porcelain Youth opening for KMFDM in Sep/05
So begins the story for the voice of heavy rock's next generation, Porcelain Youth. Truthfully this story began when Jesse Daigle and Adam Cannon began playing together at the tender age of 12 to curb the boredom they experienced in their hometown.
"There was nothing else to do but make music, so that's all we did." says Jesse.
The grade school friends began writing and playing together in their native East Hamilton, Ontario homes jammin to local heroes like Finger Eleven. It wasn't until two years later Dan Seniuk joined the ensemble on bass to complete the trio and Porcelain Youth released their 5 song self-titled EP, which went on to sell over 3,000 units.
Porcelain Youth signed to V2 Records Canada in 2005 and subsequently headed into the studio for their second recording "The Therapy Sessions EP". The 6 song EP was recorded at Westmoreland Recording Studios by Producer Carl Jennings. The Therapy Sessions EP is slated for a spring 2006 release.
Porcelain Youth's recording process is an alliance of each members personal tastes with "everyone coming equal as far as song writing... everyone adds to it". And what is their favorite song on the disc? "Definitely 'Alone'" says Jesse, "It's a weird riff you wouldn't expect in a rock song but man, it just drives the track into somewhere so heavy".
Influenced by a wide range of styles from current heavyweights like System Of A Down and Mudvayne to old school funk and classic rock the current battery that is Porcelain Youth really just want to play. "We cant wait to tour this summer". With high hopes and a promising sound, the rise has just begun.
"The Therapy Sessions EP" will be released on V2 Records in 2006.
