What’s yer name?
AKA Frankie Gee, and now referred to as Kid Fiesta. Dumb ass with a wax habit and a penchant for dope trainers, that’s me.
Where yer from?
DJing and partying for longer than my wallet cares to remember, my path to the here and now has taken me from my hometown of Manchester to my current residence in East London. Along the way I also spent a couple of very enjoyable years in Bradford which is where I truly learned the art of party.
Influences
Growing up in the burgeoning rave scene, clubs such as the Hacienda, Back to Basics, Life @ Bowlers, the Herbal Tea Parties, Megadog, Cream and Up Yer Ronson have all played a part in what I’m interested in musically. As did listening to 808 State’s very own radio show on Sunset 102 (those guys we’re funny bastards it has to be said) playing cutting edge underground rave, way before the sounds broke away into their own defined scenes and genres. This is why I’m still a house head to this day.
I am also a true hip hop fan and love beats and bass. Hence I DJ across lots of different genres from funk, soul, boogie, house, hip hop, techno. Anything with a groove that will make you wiggle your but is alright with me.
Parties
I’ve always loved throwing parties. I was involved with a night called Smile in Bradford and seeing it work from the inside really inspired me. Upon moving to London my own night TUKAI was born. Between September 2000 and August 2005 we threw over 50 parties including 6 boat parties on the Thames. Some top bloody laughs!
TUKAI will be making a long awaited return to the London club scene very soon, so watch this space…….
