Nacho Sotomayor, born and bread in Villanueva del Arzobispo, Jaen (Spain). During the early 80´s he moved to Granada to continue with his Art studies and deepen his already very promissing knowledge of music. During the following two decades his constant drive and admiration for the way new technologies were being applayed with in the musical realm, lead him together with his brother to form an electronic based sound due, called INTRO. This lead to the release of four rather unusual and innovating projects, very refreshing for the spanish record industry (Visiones,1994; Eden, 1996; Melismas, 1998; Dies Irae, 2001). In 1995, Nacho Sotomayor settles down in Madrid and begins his outstanding solo career, combining his oun projects (Traxforma CD, 1997) with, remixes, advertising productions and motion picture sound tracks.Ibiza caused in Nacho Sotomayor a total fascination for mystic musical exploration. Es Vedrá, the name given to a tiny isle, which stands between the Mediterranean sea and the main island of Ibiza; "La Roca", as locals call the isle, is a desirable location which acted as a catalyst and a turning point in his reborm career. Also becomes the name of his project, where the inspiring musical tendencies of the isle, such as Chill-Out, Trip-Hop and Down-Tempo, amoungst others, solidify together with his past musical culture, becoming the fundations for Nacho Sotomayors future sound evolution."La Roca Vol.1" the first of the series, was released 1999 by House D`arret, his new label. "La Roca" was presented live in Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and Ibiza, reaching out to a very wide range of public. This determined the great level of popularity that Nacho Sotomayor prooved to have, with the subsequent releases of "La Roca Vol. 2, in 2000 & Vol.3, in 2001". This has allowed him to maximize his oun musical expression, composing and arranging. At an editorial level he signed to the North Anerica´s multinational Warner Chapell strengthning even more his potential. His influences of the past, the present and the future, are here transformed into a solid and viable project, which has been accepted very well over the past years in both national and international markets.2000, is the year Nacho Sotomayor and his brother Francisco Sotomayor, release their new project called "Dìes ìrae" featuring Manuel Lorente, a very significant flamenco singer and the guittarrist Luis Monje Camaron ( Oldest son of Camarón de la Isla. One the most important flamenco singers of all times). This has been considered by specialised press to be the most serious and eleveted experience in fussion between flamenco and electronic based sounds up to date.Nacho Sotomayor, continued to mature experimenting with the fussion of world sounds and electronic ambient, reaching a higher level of international proyection ever, with "La Roca Vol. 3" in 2001. Featuring a young spanish singer, Bebe. Giving the production a mooving and uplifting multicultural flavoured sound. Nacho Sotomayor managed to transmit with this selection of tracks a much more fluid aproach with dazling warm humain brightness. The promotional video of the track "Eternal" was chosen by the british MTV and was included their charts. This caussed a very positived market reaction at an international level, giving Nacho Sotomayor a much wider scope with "La Roca Vol.3" that now a days reaches global scale (Singapur, Australia, USA, Italy, Israel, Canada, France, UK, Japan, etc).2002 brings us a new edition of La Roca,Vol.4 with a rich mature sound, a result of total dedication. This new project shows a greater level of consiousness as a producer with the colaboration of exceptional female vocalists , such as , Joanna Rubio and Najwa Nimri, exploring further in to the warm and intimate world of La Roca. In 2005 Nacho Sotomayor and his brother Francisco founded their own record label, "Absolute Ambient". An emotional project rather than a commercial one, making it a very interesting stake on the more relaxed side of the international electronic music scene. At present they are getting together their 4th. album as Intro, which shall be released on "Absolute Ambient" in the very near future.Apart from his previous work as a producer with his series of "La Roca" releases and Chill-out projects, for which he has managed to gain much respect in the past, Nacho Sotomayor is also working on what will be his first complete project as himself. This forth coming record, is an amalgamation of feelings and sounds babtized "INTERIOR", with surprising colaborations such as the prestigious spanish guittarist JoseLuis Encinas, the forever popular spanish main stream female vocalist Marta Sanchez (Universal) and the talent of a new up and comming value in the international underground dance music scene, DeepBlue (Real Records).
