Spoken Art is an innovative and unique Hip Hop group that draws its inspiration from every day life and everything that comes with it. The groups main focus is to make music that everybody can relate to while also sticking to the principles that hip hop is based on, such as staying true to oneself and giving an honest representation of the community and world in which they live. Although the group released their first official Album "Scrap Book" in early 2002 the Spoken Art story goes back farther than that. John Patrick (vocals and song writing) and Jason Sakach A.K.A Psalms (vocals, producing and song writing) have been making music since they were freshmen in high school. Jason started out as a D.J. and a Graff writer while John Patrick was doing shows rhyming over the sounds of live bands. The two met in high school and started up local freestyle sessions after school and eventually the two started making songs in a crew with now solo artist, D.E.A.K who then was known as fresh out the box. The group eventually was just Psalms and John Patrick and was known around northern California for free styling and rocking shows. In 2001 the two both went down to attend school in southern California and to pursue a life in music. Once there, the crew started to take off and make a name for them playing a variety of gigs and college campuses all over southern California. This also was the beginning of producer Matt Right aiding Spoken Art with production and giving the group a more upbeat sound. With the help of friend Matt Right and Mark Muzzati A.K.A Meridian they would make a mix tape called "likelihood" that contained crowd favorites such as "who's to say" and "keep on", and also the crews first album "Scrap Book". These two projects would help the two play even more shows and help the crew get more known in the southern California music scene. After two years of school Jason took of to Europe while John Patrick finished up school rocking shows and winning poetry jams all the while. The two joined back up again in northern California to create their best album to date "Can't Kill an Idea". This album fueled by Jason's ecliptic production and no nonsense lyrics as well as John Patrick's poetic and true to life song writing ability would take the group on its first tour as well as all around California, playing at a variety of different venues as well as underground house party shows which the crew has been known for. Spoken Art has now managed a well crafted live preformace and has obtained an eclectic and loyal fan base from all over California and helped build a scene for Hip Hop in Sonoma county and the rest of northern California sound.......................................................
