Es ballert aus allen Rohren wenn die Damen und Herren Mixroboter ihre Mischpultregler in rote Bereiche reissen. Housige Stomper treffen punktgenau auf breakige Soundgeflechte, gepusht von einer am Punk geschulten Aggressivität. Trotzdem immer auch Pop. Am DJ Pult oder auf der Bühne wird es offenbar: Dieser Roboter ist sauber auf Abfahrt programmiert.
Mixroboter nehmen die rockendsten Elemente aus 3 Dekaden Dancefloor auseinander und setzen sie neu zusammen, damit es eben noch mehr rockt. Wer steckt dahinter? Jenny Fey und Robert Drakogiannakis sind eigentlich bekannt geworden durch ihr Elektropop Projekt Planetakis welches sich weltweit mit dem Song "Pogo in the Shoes of Kylie Minogue" in manches DJ Herz gespielt hat. Als dritten im Bunde gewannen die beiden Kölner den Exil-Münchener Pierre Chevalier. Dieser hat sich durch sein Engagement in der Münchener Techno Szene die Sporen verdient.
Gut gelaunt aber auf Krawall gebürstet gibt sich das Debutalbum "The Phone" welches auf dem kölner Startup Label Peng Musik erscheint. (z. Zt. exklusiv als Download auf der Mixroboter Myspace Seite, ca. ab März 2008 auch in physischer Form im Handel.)
Ihre Gigs oszillieren zwischen DJ-Set und Liveperformance, da wird vorsätzlich keine klare Trennlinie gezogen. Aktuelle Dancepunk Hits und TechHouse Klassiker werden enteignet, genüsslich zerstöpselt und mit eigenen Kreationen unterminiert. Da lacht das Strobo!
Mixroboter is our new dancefloor project. Compared to our electro pop playground Planetakis it´s much more electronic, less pop, sometimes dark and distorted. We were looking for a heavy, sweaty sound forcing us to dance, early in the morning in the underground dicotheque of our dreams.
"The Phone" was produced in the course of a year, synchronous to the new Planetakis album "Out Of The Club Into The Night". Starting point was the title track "The Phone", originally a 17 minute opus, now split into two parts. This piece didn´t fit into the song orientated concept of Planetakis so we were looking for a new output. A couple of remix projects led us even further in this new direction.
So here we are now, simulaneously releasing two full length albums, showing two different angles of our work. For the present, the Mixroboter album is exclusively available as a digital download.
