About Me

Professional fighting is a tricky business. One moment the fans love you and the next you're a paper champion, a washed-up fighter. A former figment of everyone's imagination whose true colors were exposed by the next soon-to-be former figment of everyone's imagination. And so it became for recently dethroned UFC middleweight champion Rich 'Ace' Franklin - better known to some as Dana White's poster child. Whether or not you support Franklin as a fighter, a closer inspection of the facts reveals just how unfortunate and out-of-hand the rhetoric has become. (READ MORE)
First and foremost I'd like to thank Dana White and the UFC for hosting another live event on virtually free television. I say "virtually free" because we can't really kid ourselves. Unless you're stealing cable or satellite television you probably have a monthly bill. And if you're like me that monthly bill runs you about $1.80 per day or 7 1/2 cents an hour. So when I bellied up to Spike TV last night I was resolute that I damn well better be getting my .15 cents worth and I did.

The rules of conduct in the mixed martial arts workplace are clearly on a planet of their own. But you have to admit it would be truckloads of fun if MMA's not-so-mainstream human resource model collided with corporate America.
For the sake of this little experiment I'm going to appoint myself office manager of some sort of white collar cubicle compound. A number-crunching nightmare. And we'll need a name for our little corner of heaven. Let's call it Feelings Mutual. Here's what our employee handbook might look like.

The is the classic real life story of a fallen champion.
This 11-minute documentary follows Tyson's rise and fall via footage, interviews and more. (WATCH VIDEO)
Back around January Howard Stern bid farewell to his terrestrial radio markets in favor of a less censored satellite alternative. I didn't follow him. And like many other commuters around the St. Louis area I was faced with choosing the next soundtrack for my morning drive. In my case it became the often mind-numbing dumbness of Rover's Morning Glory, currently broadcasting out of Cleveland after getting the big heave-ho from Chicago a month ago as the result of interoffice bickering and a painful-to-admit-to ratings crush by Opie and Anthony. Greetings! And welcome to my brand new home!
Some of you will remember me from my days as editor of InsideFighting.com. Others might remember me as the Executive Producer of MMA Evolution Radio. And if you're really old school then you might remember my articles in The Fighter and Cross Combat Magazines. Or perhaps you saw me on Porto do Vale Tudo or heard me on Pro Karate Weekly a time or two.
Whatever the case, I'd like to welcome you to my new home on Myspace.com, and I'd like to encourage you to subscribe to my blog. I will be putting out fresh and original content on a regular basis as well as linking to some of my other articles from around the web. But perhaps most important to me is the forthcoming announcement of my new venture - Fight STL!
