.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. sergius gregory was born in eastern pennsylvania. he composed music all of his life. he took up residence deep inside a train tunnel under the upper west side of manhattan for two very cold seasons. here he composed a large body of material, both lyrical and musical with a used violin bought at a pawnshop on 8th avenue. he then relocated to alaska and continued to compose on an island near the end of the aleutian chain, a small eastern orthodox monastery on an island in the kodiak archipelago, and a cabin on an island in halibut cove. upon completion of graduate studies in new york, sergius gregory moved to the big island of hawaii and composed and recorded in the tool shed of his rented coffee shack in the hills above kailua-kona. poverty and mental illness forced him to return to homer alaska, nearer to friends. he lives there now and composes and records daily on borrowed instruments, except for his cello which he owns. His love and blessings to everyone. His album is called "sounds like people" songs: man of the year, miss in formation, our holiday, bed of sticks (am radio), over (am radio), other plans, all bricks and mortar, the irony, better than stars, i'll bring your pills, human resources, interlude, healthy sons, always such a mess, no one gets hurt, sounds like people, back from space, going to get better
