About Me

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Live as children of light" Eph 5:8
LOVELITE is a worship band whose vision is to write music that inspires praise in the hearts of His children and desire in the hearts of His lost. Let's get together and sing for the Architect and His name is Jesus.

Lovelite Bio:
Lovelite exists to “inspire praise in the hearts of God's children and desire in the hearts of His lost.” This comes from Andrew Polfer, one half of the husband and wife duo whose authentic and reverential worship is the cornerstone for what has become Lovelite.
In the early stages of marriage Andrew and Jen Polfer began offering praise to God through the songs they wrote with the intentions of growing closer together and growing cooperatively closer to their Creator. Their beautiful melodies and attractive arrangements quickly compelled the other members-to-be to form Lovelite.
Composed of Andrew Polfer (guitar/vocal), Jen Polfer (guitar/vocal), JT (keyboards/piano), Matt Castle (bass guitar), and Nathan Slawson (drums), Lovelite is a band with maturity and wisdom unusual to such up and coming artists. Some of its members, in fact, have shared the stage with several internationally renowned, platinum-selling artists.
With a sound familiar to both pop and indie fans, Lovelite intricately blends guitar and piano with a vibrant Euro flair, breaking the mold for what is considered status quo for worship bands. The Polfers’ vocals are exceptionally passionate, yet unforced and while their content and lyrics find a comfortable home in sanctuaries, their songs resonate with a sound you’d find in your average downtown venue or concert hall. Andrew’s voice, likened to that of Muse’s Matthew Bellamy or Radiohead’s Thom York, blended with Jen’s compelling harmonies will gently persuade you to reacquaint yourself with God in these uplifting exhortations with a sound reminiscent of Travis and Keane.
Lovelite’s self-titled EP opens with the energetically anthemic KING OF LOVE. In this song the band enthusiastically joins the rest of creation to sing “glory” to their loving King. In juxtaposition to the up-tempo KING OF LOVE is GREAT AND GLORIOUS, a song that Andrew says conveys his admiration of “how our God remains the same and is outside our little minds.” ALWAYS (ALREADY WON) and FOUND IN YOU continue along the same vein of theologically insightful and inspiring art that melodically praises God for His grace, power, and love. The Lovelite EP finds its finale in what most consider its apex in FINALLY FREE (BLIND EYES). Beginning in a vulnerable whispering of the chorus and concluding with an unrestrained climactic bridge, this passionate admonition details the relationship of humanity to its Creator. Andrew’s passion for creating songs that extol the Being that gives ultimate purpose in life is illuminated by his belief that God “has revealed Himself to us so that we might find our salvation in Him and turn our eyes and worship towards Him”. Lovelite’s EP is truly an effective vessel for inspiring God’s children to return to the heart of true praise while giving purpose to its listeners to seek those still separated from God.
“Worship exists inside and outside of the church,” says Andrew relating Lovelite’s yearning to be more than a band that just sings songs tailored to hit the heart of the average worshiper. Worship “brings people together to touch the heart of God. I think it can be a unique way to share in the character of God's creativity." Lovelite hopes to bring authentic and passionate music as well as an opportunity to put faith into action. Through partnerships with local churches and organizations, Lovelite intends to be the bridge between churches and their surrounding community with the hope that lives can be changed and God’s story of hope revealed. Music is the vessel but ministry is the mission.
Lovelite is a band made up of five people who, with God’s guidance and blessing, desire to bring hope, passion and action to a generation unknowingly surrounded by darkness in order to let God’s love shine through.
According to Andrew, “There are only two eternal things in this world: God and People. We want to bring praise to God and hope to people.”
