Waves Beyond Infinity

Our plans are tangled up by time

About Me

Waves Beyond Infinity started in 2003 with three people trying to write songs. Sometimes we managed, sometimes we didn't, reflected in the appearance of our imaginary friend, Bob, the electronic drum kid. When he quit, the band fell apart.

Two years later, we got together again, except for Bob, who was dead. Since Hassel and Bram just finished their study they didn't have any money for real instruments so that's why we decided to continue as an acoustic band. Some of the old songs got adapted, some completely rewritten, and some were just thrown away. At the same time new songs were written as if there was no tomorrow.

In November 2006 we started recording our songs at home and released our debut CD Back to where I came from in July. A review can be found here .

If you want to order a CD, just mail us at [email protected]. They are priced at 7,50 plus additional costs for delivery.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Linda Lange vocals
Hassel Kroes electric & acoustic guitar, bass guitar
Bram van Dijk electric & acoustic guitar, banjo

Influences: Nick Cave, Johan, Woven Hand, Grandaddy, Manu Chao, Neil Young, Tom Waits and of course the melodies hidden in our own ideas.
Sounds Like: We describe the asymptotic boundary of the general homogeneous plane wave spacetime, using a construction of the 'points at infinity' from the causal structure of the spacetime as introduced by Geroch, Kronheimer and Penrose. We show that this construction agrees with the conformal boundary obtained by Berenstein and Nastase for the maximally supersymmetric ten-dimensional plane wave. We see in detail how the possibility of going beyond (or around) infinity arises from the structure of light cones. We also discuss the extension of the construction to time-dependent plane wave solutions, focusing on the examples obtained from the Penrose limit of Dp-branes.
Record Label: unsigned
Type of Label: None
