BIO
Since 2003 Poultry is an unbreakable Punkrockformation of 4 of the closest friends you can think of!! Their sound is a mixture of superfast, crazy, in your face, melodic skatepunk guided by female vocals with an attitude. From time to time they tend to play a song that’s a little less fast, but not making a habit out of it.
Unlike the human body, Poultry seems to be getting more energetic trough out the years. Giving everything every show, makes it hard for the crowd to create a bigger moshpit on the floor than is already going on, on stage. Silly jokes in between songs is the excellent opportunity to catch your breath and get ready for the next song. This is one of their ways to get the crowd involved as much as possible and making the show one big party. And while the ‘young people’ are rocking out in front of the stage, the ‘older people’ are slowly banging their heads in the back. Although they are having a lot of fun on stage, this band is very serious in their music and lyrics. But fun will always be the most important part for this band.
At the end of January 2009 Poultry will release their first album. These are the first recordings where they managed to capture the energy and enthusiasm of their live shows. With this brand new album Poultry feels confident enough to hit the bigger stages through out the country.
In 2003 they recorded their first demo and in 2005 they recorded 7 more songs. In 2007 they recorded a song for a music-video. This was in collaboration with Media Mixer Zuid-Holland.
With an average age of 20 years, Poultry has played lots of shows. They have been playing together since they were 14. After playing in every venue in their area (Gouda), they started playing more around the country and also some international shows. Besides their fulltime studies they try to put as much time in the band as possible.
Poultry started working with For Japan in 2008 and started the Crossing the Lines Tour. Together they are trying to support foreign bands, by arranging shows with them in the Netherlands, and visa versa. They already did so with bands as Practical Joke and We Will Fly.
