About Me

Alan Munshower was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He started pursuing drums at the age of 10. A scholarship brought Alan to Baltimore in 1998 to study at Goucher College. While at school he performed most notably in Soft Shoe Shuffle, an original fusion/jam band that released a CD and toured in France during the summer of 2000. After graduating in 2002 with a B.A. in music, Alan formed the world-fusion group Sangita and toured France in the summer of 2003. In the past few years, Alan has been busy with trio ricochet , including performances at Blue Note NYC, the 55 Bar, the Knitting Factory and Twins Jazz. His duet with pianist Nobu Stowe, A-UN, has a forthcoming album on Soul Note featuring tabla master Badal Roy. Alan can also be seen with the Kiss Quartet, the Philtones, Eva Castillo , Not For Human Hearing , Boostimus!, The So On and So Forth and Sac Au Lait . Alan maintains a small studio of percussion students.
