About Me

Fun, flirty and financially stable. Well-traveled, highly-educated and self-confident. I cherish my tried and true friends and have joined myspace because I enjoy meeting new people and celebrate the diversity within our community. I come fully equipped with an adventurous spirit, a quirky sense of humor and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of energy.

My Interests

Water-related including fishing (marlin-Mazatlan, halibut-Alaska, shark-Florida). Now casting my line on myspace. Lettered in swimming, competed on a waterpolo team during off-season and now PADI certified. Cruised several bodies of water worldwide. Fortunate to have encountered what I consider "endangered" destinations such as landmarks in Israel, an architectural anomaly called The Leaning Tower of Pisa, & several wildlife safaris while living in Africa Lodges, Camps and Safaris to take at Kruger National Park Johannesburg, my city of birth and a flower called a protea, indigenous to South Africa.

I'd like to meet:

I would love to meet locals who share similar interests as well as people from distant locales who are willing to teach me something new. While we are truly delving into this issue, then I will include a few famous and infamous people either living or who have passed on. Sure, why not? After all, this is virtually living therefore those who have virtually been dead 100 years may be an option, however. I am troubled with including those who were not alive when the world wide web was created. This distinction may have some bearing on how true of an encounter I will view the "meeting". I am a scientist by nature and need proof. I suppose life would be more splendid if the surreal did not have to undergo the rigorous testing of my own mind...For gaming purposes and not to sell myself short of a capricious experience, I will include some snapshots of actual characters that I feel will be noteworthy, as well as some artist renderings of historical figures who have made a substantial impact on my life, and finally offer up some artist renderings of those who are mystical, superhuman, and even those who are sacred (do I dare?)There is no specific order that the people I would like to meet are in. Ancient, non-living and even mystical beings will also be included. There is no specific order that the people I would like to meet are in. Music:

The Killers, The Wallflowers, Dave Matthews, Cyndi Lauper, and open to listening to forgotten favorites and great new music. On the subject of new music and quite appropriate for this medium...................................................... Check out another Gainesville export and my favorite myspace friend, say it as one word and one syllable if you are so inclined, "Blacksnake" Please see my videos for a sample of their music. In my videos section you will also find a few of my favorite artists/videos, this is obviously not an all inclusive list.

Movies:

I would opt for theatre anytime of the week. Live theatre that features at least one of the actors I know personally captures my typically short attention span and enthralls me for hours. Get your eyes on some really good local theatre and you will be hooked.
Hosted by HitupMyspace.com

Television:

Now that my schedule permits, I am able to get addicted to television show(s). One such show, is 'Desperate Housewives'. I am proud to admit, that I have watched 3 consecutive episodes, what a feat! (for me) See my videos section for trailers and clips of favorite shows on todays television. I have also included some Grey's Anatomy videos. Recently I became a HUGE fan. I cannot keep a straight face when watching Amy Sedaris as Jerri Blank. Not a regular running show but a real treat when you can catch an episode on Comedy Central. The title is called 'Strangers With Candy' and I don't care what your mother told you, you need to take some time and get familiar with 'Strangers With Candy'.

Heroes:

Do I hate being political? Yes. I could care less about stuffing my views down your throat. Please, don't waste your time on either boldly sharing or trying to conceal your views, if you must, then go ahead. Chances are, we are not going to agree. Therefore, let me explain why the marines on my myspace page have taken back the title of hero (rather than musicians, artists, actors or athletes). Not suggesting that those who excel in sports and the arts don't deserve respect, not at all, in fact, myspace could be referred to as a mausoleum to the artists. I was just thinking, therefore I write and truly pleased that you read.Enjoy the following read. Diversity is what makes our wonderful world go round and freedom in the United States gives everyone the opportunity to embrace the diversity.Although I said I could care less about sharing political views, aversions or perversions, I am including this extended caption to the following pictures and since I am putting these words out there, the views of the dissenter are welcome too, besides, I am the person who opened this door.I really love a man in uniform, almost as much as I love him out of the uniform (LOL). Actually, I have never been a woman who desires to date or marry a "man in uniform". I base this on the feeling that I would never be his first priority. Duty describes the man and the uniform identifies him. After writing the previous statement, I have to make it clear that there are two men on myspace heroes section. These men are two of my heroes and I have an amazing amount of respect for marines. These two men represent a part of American pride and tradition and their honor is as at stake whilst we debate which skirmishes and atrocities are worth the act of congress and the decision to send our sons and daughters to war.Certainly we can all agree that the military program, including the sometimes operational "intelligence" and the people in the military serve to protect the citizens residents of the USA from foreign invasion (I am not including acts of terrorism, isolated as they may be). Without the military program...Let's see...can anyone say "merde"? It's the french word for "shit" and probably uttered by hundreds of citizens of France in May of 1940 when it became apparent that France couldn't defend their borders and its citizens. Pardon my use of french and let's be frank, I don't want to share in this part of french history. Et tu? Oui!Although I am not an American, I still count on the US military to feel safe and I proudly own a home in the USA. I reciprocate the service of these wonderful heroes by always extending a hero welcome (especially in my home) and have a 19 + year history of paying taxes in the USA. Note: This was created on Veterans Day 2006 and then drafted and posted the following day.My mom is also my hero. She is a wonderful person. Recently we went to Las Vegas. She danced on a coffee table in a club with a few other people (myself not included). She did it not because she has any desire to do such things but because a really friendly group of people asked her and she politely obliged. The couple featured in this picture get their hero status because not only did they include my mom in conversation and dance, they got her to use a coffee table as a dance floor. Gotta love people who love life and include others when sharing in their bliss. The photographer must not have realized she needed to take a picture of the actual bike we were on. I am the "bitch" on the bike and the person riding the bike lives in my neighborhood (actually it was his neighborhood first). I do have trouble asking for help so it is wonderful that he is there when I ask. Moreover, his gestures are greatly appreciated when offered freely sans solicitation. Thank you kindly, my neighbor, across two lakes and a few streets, you succeed in protecting my safety and guarding my sanity.~~~~~~~~~~Additional Heroes-These are the people who have made all the difference~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SINCE THERE ISN'T A SECTION FOR TREASURES, I PUT THESE LITTLE PAW PRINTS HERE. My eldest cat is 15 years old and I have had her since she was a kitten. Oops, cats aren't really a favorite of men and the more felines you have seems to predict how marketable you are to the male gender. I could care less, I love the fur ball and she loves me...I wrote a little story via the slides below to celebrate the recent Gator Victory for the SEC title. I will give this rather long introduction because I feel it has its own merit. In the 80s the Gator Football athletics department under coach Charlie Pell had committed violations regarding recruiting. After being replaced by Galen Hall, the Gators won the SEC games of 1984 and 1985 but were stripped of the SEC title due to ineligibililty that took place in the Pell years. The University of Florida football players, entire student body and the fans of the Gators felt both shame and pain. The local DJs compiled a short musical piece care of the sampling of the music from Dire Straits' "I want my MTV". The words of Sting's line from the song were replaced with "I want my S. E. C." I remember the event, the tune and the tone of the fans as if it were yesterday not 22 years ago. While my love and support for the Gator football team has not wavered, the coaches and athletics department have earned my respect with coaches like Steve Spurrier and now Urban Meyer. Congratulations to the players, the coaches and the fans of the Gators. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Go Gators!!!" The Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the University of Florida Fighting Gators for the National Championship title. A possible double victory for Florida athletics(basketball and football). What a year in sports history will this be. POST GAME ADDITION~~ AND YES IT WAS!!! HAPPY THAT THE TEAM MADE THIS NOTION A REALITY ************* UF Grad. Gator Fan. Proud of It. Now YOU Want to be too. Your problem, the dark garnet color you painted your bedroom shows through and your mom isn't very happy. This is the old school Albert and I feel that he still deserves his place in the limelight...
