In late fall of 2006 Jakartah formed and founded from the wreckage of broken lives and broken promises. From a city as famous for its heroin as it's salmon, Vancouver, British Columbia, the band's debut full length CD out March 3rd, 2008, on Torque Records: "In The Nervous Lights Of Coincidence" shockingly sits comfortably with the great indie-hardcore records made of the past 20 years. Mastered in the world famous Red Room in Seattle, WA by These Arms Are Snakes drummer Chris Common, Jakartah sounds immedietly familiar and new, hopeful and desolate; dishonest and truthful.
After spending 2007 split between the studio and constant touring, the band is set to see there hardwork pay off. The band will be distributed by Victory Records worldwide , with plans of a stronger presence in press, radio, which leaves the band with much excitment and wide open for anything to happen. Jakartah is one of the most highly anticipated bands of 2008 that you haven't heard of yet.
