The songs of Callum Adamson & Dave Burn.
Dave Burn vocals, guitar
Callum Adamson guitar, vocals.
London based alternative/country songwriters & live performers.
A chance meeting between two talented songwriters who were both performing at a central London music venue saw the creation of ahab, an alternative/country duo who are Callum Adamson and Dave Burn.
Both of these young songwriters have grown from musical backgrounds. Their upbringing giving them every encouragement to develope their craft.
Their music is of a style away from the middle ground, yet their songs have a unique sound and take on a maturity far beyond their years. They are very much left of centre producing songs that are instantly recognisable as ahab.
During the past twelve months they have achieved radio play on the ABC network in Australia where Dave embarked on a solo visit to promote the songs. This included interviews and live sessions along the west coast. In the UK their songs have been featured on BBC radio and they featured with a live session for BBC's "Brand New Country" as well as several additional live sessions for the BBC, Smooth fm and local radio.
Their track "Avenues" was included in a News Of The World covermont cd while their first recordings received an outstanding review from "Maverick" magazine with comparisons made to Crosby, Stills & Nash.
An e.p release ( e.p1 ) followed, again obtaining excellent reviews from the media and has sold in the UK, Europe and the US on the independant label "White Wail Records", helping to create their present fan base.
Their new album "ahab", released in August of this year, brings together songs crafted by Callum and Dave over the past two years with the addition of the unique cover of Nirvana's "Breed". The album received a five star rating by Maverick magazine and several tracks have found radio play throughout Europe.
In live performance they have toured the Uk at a duo but also play as a full band where they are joined by J Hirano on drums and Chris Corney on bass and backing vocals with occasional backing vocals by Kirsten Adamson and Adrian Roye.
They are signed to London based publishers 41GP Music and have embarked on several co-writing sessions.
TENSHEDS singer / songwriter / live performer based in London.
For the past three years Tensheds has been performing to audiences all over the UK & Europe, and recently supported for Paul Young, Roger Chapman and Elvis' legendary TCB Band.
In 2007 he won the Performing Rights Society & Fopp
records UK Unsigned Award and in February this year released the 'Save The Album' EP, featuring for the first time his new backing band.
This came a year after he independently released his debut album 'Clockwork' - recorded by the multi-instrumentalist in an old farm building in the North of England. It is
on the stage though where Tensheds is most at home, whether performing solo or with his backing band he delivers his stylish and authentic music that dons
its cap to Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Ryan Adams.
Tensheds is also signed to the London based publishing house 41GP Music and is presently putting the finisning touches to his forthcoming album.
Chris Corney singer / songwriter / producer / live performer based in Bedford.
Chris Corney is a 31 year old, Hertfordshire born singer / songwriter / producer. He began playing guitar around age 11, wrote his first song at around 14, and formed first band at around 16.
Since then Chris has worked his way up through the ranks and honed his musical skills playing in bands such as 'the Contrast' (rainbow quartz records) and his own band 'The Ravines'.
Chris is now signed to Universal publishing but as yet is not signed to a record label. He’s picked up BBC radio airplay / interviews, and recently played a headline show at Cleos Laine's legendary 'Stables theatre', supported the fabulous Eve Selis band, and played Birmingham’s NEC as part of ‘music live’.
His debut LP "Built To Be Burned Down' is a mixture of acoustic alt country with ‘pop-laden’ hooks and is now available to buy from www.chriscorneymusic.co.uk, iTUNES and CDBaby.
Look out for Chris and his band playing at a venue near you.
Chris has also recently taken the position oc bass and backing vocals in ahab.
EDDIE SHIELS songwriter from Derry,
Northern Ireland.
Honest songs taken from his heart and soul, Eddie Shiels writes and records songs which have personal meaning and paint the picture from where they came.
Eddie finds his love of creating music is fired by those artists he most respects, his interest covers most genres, yet his own songs tend to be soulfull acoustic numbers fired by those that enter and suround his life.
South of the Country is pleased to encourage Eddie's work.
