About Me

I started playing guitar at 16, teaching myself from the "Roy Clark Big Note Song book" I got from my good friend Rodney. Add my brother Jim to the mix and we formed "THE GOLDEN MOUNTAIN BOYS". Throw in a little bit of Butch, some Peanut, Mellisa and Jerry...and what can I say, Good times......Good times....Nashville is one of the coolest towns hands down! With some of the most interesting people you'll meet. And creative doesn't even begin to describe it. The songs I'm sharing on this page are some that I have had the priviledge of writing with some good friends. I hope you enjoy them.

Influences: THE ONES YOU DON'T KNOW: Although he wasn't a musician, my Dad had a lot of influence on me musically. Growing up around radio stations is bound to effect you in some way, (HA...that explains a LOT) Sue Gray, my Aunt, WOW what a piano player! There's not a song she can't play. Buddy Adkins was a big influence on me as well. He is one of the kindest people I know and he still has the coolest guitar! And all of the many players that came through New Salem, GA to pick a little on a Saturday night at the square dances. There are so many great pickers around there!THE ONES YOU SHOULD KNOW: The Statler Brothers, Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers. Of course, Chet Atkins. Then there is The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, and Bob Segar. Bands like The Eagles, Chicago, and Fleetwood Mac still knock my socks off. Then stuff like The Alan Parsons Project or Pink Floyd and Acoustic Alchamey make me stop and listen everytime they come on the radio.I guess it would be impossible for me to really list all that made an impact on me. There seems to be new ones everyday as well. MUSIC, you gotta love it.
