It’s a small three letter word. It is one of the most frequently used and does not need to be accompanied by any other word or words for a person to understand its meaning.
When articulated, an individual can receive knowledge in return, but there are many times in our life when we are faced with ‘WHYS’ that remain unanswered or are unanswerable. The only answer received, is silence. Does that prevent us from asking? Of course not, we just continue to ask. Sometimes we ask until it becomes destructive to our very sanity. So ‘WHY’ do we constantly repeat a question that we know will not and/or can not be answered?
As time passes, we learn to understand that it’s not the ‘WHY’ that’s important, but rather, it’s how we survive when there is no answer. We finally stop asking, grasp life at the roots and look to the future, without clinging desperately to the past.
We ask many unanswered/unanswerable ‘WHYS’ throughout our life. How we accept that there is no answer, is what determines our strength of character, resilience and the direction of our life’s path.
