I am here for Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm an old fashioned kind of guy. I still insist on opening doors for the ladies. Be it a car door, a restaurant, store, or bar. Let's just say I feel that chivalry may not be dead...but it is dying. I moved to the Twin Cities 15 yrs ago from Wisconsin. I've got three grown children that live in Wisconsin and Maryland. My son in Maryland, is in officer training in the Navy at Annapolis. So, yes, I'm a proud parent!I enjoy photography, and take lots of pictures of birds, animals and my friends. Hummingbirds are my all time favorite, so small, and hard to shoot....pictures, that is.After work, I go on-line right off the bat to read and respond to my e-mails. (who doesn't?) Recently I joined pogo.com a really cool gaming web site. Just another way to meet some really nice people out here on the web. Jamiacan Blue Mountain coffee wakes me up in the morning, and a bump of Dr Pepper get's me through work until 10:00 PM. Before work you will find me on one of the bike trails, or just walking around my neighborhood. I raft the Peshtigo River in northern WI every spring, been doing that for 33 years now. That's the start of campfire season for me. Nothing like sitting around a fire with good friends and a fine cigar. I have a great job that I actually enjoy doing...how lucky is that? A goofy family back home in Wisconsin. And some quirky friends I've met up here in MN, and on-line.

My Interests

My favorite pastime is surfing the net and IM'ing old friends and relatives from back home. Otherwise I love to fish, bike, and take long walks. I always carry my camera with me and take lots of pictures of birds and other wildlife. Work is always an interest too, I actually love my job. CLICK HERE TO GET A NEW CURSOR!

I'd like to meet:

I'm not really looking for anyone, I'm actually pretty happy being single after two divorces. All the child support is finally over, and I can finally enjoy life again. But if there is some crazy woman out there who likes the comedy of T.D. Mischke, and the rants of Bob Davis, I may be interested in meeting you!

Music:

I used to be a big country fan, until country went pop. Now I listen to 89.3 in the car, and we listen to JACK up at work....which is OK. I just discovered Brandi Carlile, and I fell in love with her. Another recent find was "Raising Sand" by Robert Plant and Allison Krause.I have a John Prine and Johnny Cash CD in my dual deck player right now, and my 6 deck CD player has Kris Kristopherson, the Dixie Chicks, Tina and the B sides, Bob Segar, Rod Stewart, and Simon and Garfunkel in it....if that tells you anything about my musical tastes. I also have DVD concerts of the Bee Gees, Meatloaf, Leonard Cohen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and David Allen Coe. Abba brings back memories, as does the Captain and Tenniel...I know pretty lame, but it's there for me. Michael Jackson's Thriller made me go back to country in the early 80's. (it was all over the airwaves) I prefered listening to Elvira, by the Oak Ridge Boys back then. But I never was a big fan of Alabama. When Garth Brooks made Country pop, I mostly went back to talk radio, which is where I am today.

Movies:

"All That Jazz" is still one of my favorites, "Airplane" still cracks me up. Otherwise I liked "Easy Rider", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "When Harry Met Sally", "Videodrome" was interesting, and "Walk the Line". I recently saw "Juno", and I really liked it! "No Country for Old Men" left a bad taste in my mouth though.

Television:

I work second shift so I don't watch much TV. When I do it's usually Showtime stuff on the weekends. I was a huge fan of "Dexter". Otherwise, I watch the discovery channel, animal planet, celebrity poker, and sometimes "Big Brother" when I'm bored. ..

Books:

I think I have all of Steven King's books, and Dean Koontz for that matter. And Douglas Van Dyke.

Heroes:

All the firefighters and policemen who responded to the Twin Towers of 9/11/01.

Very tired

I stayed up way to late last night watching some stupid movie on Showtime. I think I went to bed around 5:30am. Everything I did today involved a hose. First off I washed the car, then while I was at...

Vacation

Time for a much needed vacation. We'll be heading up to the Peshtigo River in northern WI once again for a fishing, rather than a rafting trip. Damn global warming! We hardly got any snow, and it got ...

The end of an era?

That Packer game was a tough one to watch. The Packers couldn't get into the playoffs even if they won. Meaning that  it was pointless. But watching Brett Favre play like he did was amazing, with...

A Packer fan in MN

Well, the Packers are still in the playoff hunt, even with the bad year that they had. I know they don't have much a chance, but if this is Brett's last year, it sure would be cool if they made it one...
