I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

..
I'm a Native Texan (mostly Austin, but currently Dallas and born in Mineral Wells) but I've also lived in The San Francisco Bay Area ('96 - '05), Columbia, South Carolina ('95 - '96), and the greater Philadelphia area ('67-'75).
I like cooking, music (almost all kinds except new country and smooth jazz; and in fact I hate those), movies, yoga, 100% agave tequila, travel and good friends.
I could easily retire to:
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Costa Rica
San Gimignano, Italy
San Francisco
NYC
somewhere in Montana just North of Yellowstone
or just get an RV and roam.
I know, that's pretty diverse.
Cassandra and I became proud parents on February 15th. We had a little girl, named Astrid Liv Campbell. I know, a little Aquarius! What did I do!?
On May 30th, 2008 we gave birth to our 2nd (and probably last) child, also a girl - Jolie Tristan Campbell. I know, a Gemini. 'Nuff said!

Check out our family website!

What seems like a million years ago, I played in bands. I play guitar, a little bass and a little keyboard. My primary bands all have their own Myspace pages: Almost Anyone,Secret Six, Tanz Waffen and Voodoo Dali. I also have a Myspace page for the band Talmadge D'amour, which I joined right before their breakup in 1982 (but never performed with), and will be taking part in their reunion next Summer. There is not currently a page for Bliss Spillar, though there's probably not a huge fan base clamoring for that either!
For 3 years (on and off), my band Tanz Waffen also served as opening band, and backup band for New Wave Diva Lene Lovich (also on Myspace). With Lene, I served as band director, synth & drum programmer, and played bass live most of the time. We toured the US extensively from 1988-1991. Our very first show with her ever was in Austin, at what is now the Elysium, in May of 1987.
In various incarnations, my bands have opened for New Order, KMFDM, Clan of Xymox, Chris & Cosey (of Throbbing Gristle) and Gang of Four among others.
As of late 2007, I accepted an offer from the remaining members of the band Talmadge D'Amour to join them for their reunion. My good friend Gary Guthrie, who passed away in 2003, was an original member of that band, so I will be filling in his shoes (although damn, those were some small shoes). Look for more info about that on the Talmadge Myspace page on my friend's list below.
Oh, and once or twice a year I tend to go through my friend's list and anyone I never email with who never posts bulletins or otherwise uses Myspace in a way that interacts with me, I tend to delete. No offense, I just don't like a huge friend's list of people I have no interaction with. If you're one of those, then drop me a line every once in a while, and if I deleted ya, then ask me back!
The last few years I was in San Francisco I DJ'd regularly at the Bigfoot Lodge at Polk & Washington. Every Friday, and the odd Tuesday.

Check out the Bigfoot by clicking here.
