GoGo Pro

who is GoGoPro? me! it is the very essence of me. GoGoPro is years of blood, sweat, and tears. i have bled for GoGopro. yes, i have. and we are not talking about stepping on broken glass during a barefoot performance which i have done too. we are talking about "stress" causing bleeding to a point of needing a blood transfusion before performing on our busiest day of the year- New Years Eve. now, sweat, well, i could not even begin to fathom how many gallons if it could be measured over the years. at GoGopro, we dance our booties off, which means we sweat a lot! but, at least that means it is good clean sweat. as for tears...i have cried for GoGoPro countless times as a dancer, business woman, costume designer as my sewing machine broke the last hour of a costume deadline, and orchestrator of artisitic personalities which is probably the hugest challenge of running and happily maintaining a happy performance troupe. GoGopro is a compilation of dancers and performers. each individual dancer is unique with their personality and dance style. no cookie cutter dancers here!! every dancer is wholesome, physically fit, moralistic, conscientious, intelligent, and a great dancer and performer. they are stable, secure people capable of weathering high physical and mental/emotional demands of dancing and entertaining on a weekly basis for a variety of genres from corporate microsoft type parties to artistic loft parties to club venues all over the bay area and beyond. they are very special, beautiful people inside and out whom i trust and adore and feel ever so honored and blessed to have their bright, shining presences in my life! GoGoPro has a huge closet,well, entire storage area full of hundreds upon hundreds of costumes and more costumes and all guarded by my beautiful male siamese cat who has taken residence smack in the middle of them all. it is a collection of custom made and bought fashion and vintage and period costume pieces, hats, props, wigs, headdresses, backpacks, and hair pieces. the costumes themselves are a never-ending workload and investment. on our slowest weekend with only our resident base bookings filled GoGoPro sends out approximately 60 costumes. we are talking gogo laundry big time. gross!! don't like that part and never will. besides washing, mending, and sorting costumes on a weekly basis i am constantly designing and constructing new costumes. despite this huge and crazy workload, the costumes are a huge passion of mine. i especially love the seasonal costumes which can only be brought out once a year. they are always the ones that you feel most honored to wear. each costume brings out a different flavor and personality from each dancer. sometimes i think the GoGoPro dressing room is really where the true party is. i know that is what my husband says and he has been throwing successful parties in S.F for almost 10 years now. anyways, this is GoGoPro and this is me.
