RUKEY'S BEGINNING & HIS TASTE IN MUSIC:In 1996 dj rukey made his first contacts in hiphop because of a friend. Since that day, he went to all kinds of events and clubs and noticed that he really got into this musicstyle. The decision to become a dj was made only one year later. In the meantime his vinyl-collection got bigger and better, so now he got a considerable amount of releases which are mostly about the years '93 to '99. So these years really stamped his style until now and forever. His skills are reaching from scratching and cutting to also playing clubessential sounds and styles, but his repertoire does not include MTV-Chart-Trash. A good dj knows how to rock and keep the crowd on the dancefloor while playing his style of music, but he also has to work with them and to show something special once in a while. Rukey exactly knows how to do this, because he collected a lot experience and knowledge in the last years. He is always ready to push the feelings, no matter if he plays in the club, warmup, lounge or chillout. His motivation is to catch the athmosphere and also to push and to communicate with the crowd thru his music.RUKEY'S CULTURAL IMPRINT:In 1999 dj rukey and Martin Wolter (now the manager of the poetryslam-events in Leipzig, Jena and Dresden) founded the radioshow "M&M'z HpHop on Radio". The show was on air once in a month and provided information about new releases, news from the scene and interviews about hiphop artists such as Dynamite Deluxe, Curse, Gentleman, Deichkind, DJ Stylewarz, Die Firma, MC Rene, Fiva MC & DJ Redrum, Ferris MC, Blumentopf, Spax, Tefla & Jaleel, Black Eyed Peas, Torch featuring Tony L, Spezializtz, Eins Zwo, Main Concept, Pharcyde and also local acts like Microphoenix, VEB and Lockstoff just to tell a view.RUKEY'S ACTIVITIES TODAY:After three years full of busy and succesfull work, rukey decided to leave the "M&M'z" radioshow and to choose another direction. He included himself as one of the founders of the label and bookingagency "esoulate", where he now is responsible for layout and promo, press, marketing and takes part in booking. He his still resident and provides the music at almost every PoetrySlam-Event. Thru times he more and more got into Drum'n'Bass, so at the end of 2002 the "constepped project" was born. This project is about to create a new sound while mixing drum'n'bass with hiphop. There are two d'n'b artists (dj efka & soulslide of the cubacrew) working together with two hiphop artists (dj rukey and dj saibz) and also two vocals (mc rob.k and the singer 43gMeer). He also started to play hiphop as a doublepack together with dj saibz and supports his friend since 2006 on the new radioshow "Streetflavor". Downbeat and Lo-Fi sounds are Rukey's new passion. So sometimes you can hear lovely made mixdowns between hiphop and gentle and smooth beats. Also Dj Rukey takes part in booking for the eventseries fridayclub at one of the hottest clubs in town: the distillery. So be surprised about new stuff and activitys...
