About Me

FACEBOOK SUCKS!
I'm a self titled hippy type - like an eccentric cat lady.
With no cats.
I've climbed three of the biggest and well known volcanoes in southern Europe and it was amazing. Mt Etna, Vesuvious and Stromboli. In fact, travelling in general is of great importance to me. I've been to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Korea, India, Honduras, Sicily, Tunisa, The Netherlands and Italy.
I love goats cheese. And chocolate. But not together, although I must admit, I have yet to try that.....
I have Dyscalculia - which is basically the numerical eqivilent of Dyslexia. So yeah, good with words but maths screws me over something chronic.
Amazing pieces of music make me cry. I like trampolines.
I have a strange love of army surplus stores, vintage clothes stores and vintage clothing in general.
I am a PADI qualified diver.
I acheived a 2:1 degree with honours in BSc Physical Geography at university.
I'm half Italian and spend a lot of time out there on the family farm in the valleys. I'm proud of my dual nationality yet wish I could speak the language to a higher degree of fluency.
My boyfriend is 6ft6 - a real life pet giant! - and I love him to bits. We met at university. He is super intelligent, rich, a total gentle giant, and has the same travelling enthusiasm that I do. We've been together for over 2 and a half years which is actually my longest meaningful relationship ever! He's going to build me a tree house.
Scratching an itch is one of the most satisfying sensations in existance.
Love stuffing Pitta bread with all sorts of yummy foods. Including goats cheese.
I'm really into sustainable tourism and eco-tourism, aspects of which I hope to make part of my working life. I'd love to live an an eco-friendly house, you know the deal, grass on the roof and stuff like that.
I am OBSESSED with tree houses. When/if I get married, this is what I will ask as my wedding gift from the unsuspecting man. But he already knows this lol.

My Interests

I enjoy writing, hiking, travelling (big passion), meditation, open water diving, tree climbing, road trips, music, research, den building, movies, socialising, den building in trees, restoring my car, shopping, walking and swimming when I can.

I'd like to meet:

FACEBOOK CHANGED GRRRRRRR.
Seth Lakeman. David Attenborough. Elizabeth The First. The Lilt Parrot.

Favourite Qoutes:

" I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider." - MARIE CLAIRE

"But for the sake of some little mouthful of flesh we deprive a soul of the sun and light, and of that proportion of life and time it had been born into the world to enjoy". --Plutarch (c.AD 46-c.120)

"Why do we love people who ignore us, and ignore people who love us?" - A WEBSITE ABOUT NASTY CHEATING MEN

"Personally, I don't believe in the phrase 'a holiday of a lifetime'. Judging by the general opinion of what constitutes 'a holiday of a lifetime', I have been fortunate enough to have already experienced several. Therefore, I believe in the phrase 'a lifetime of holidays!" - MY OWN

"Christ on the cross has been a hidden sex symbol for centuries, with his long sexy hair, rugged good looks, clad only a loin cloth and the well-toned muscles of a carpenter" -SUZANNE MACNEVIN

"Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find that money cannot be eaten" - A POSTER IN NEW ZEALAND

Movies:

Too many to write! This box would be totally full if I had to list all my faves, I seriously love movies of all types
Does anyone else love curling up in a warm blanket to watch a movie when its chucking it down with rain outside? The movie would have to be Pretty Woman or Sister Act and the choice of snack in such moments would have to be cheese and crackers (goats cheese of course).

Television:

Family Guy, Planet Earth, QI, Dog Borstal, The Simpsons, Futurama, Red Dwarf, Spaced, Freaky Eaters, Tribal Wife, South Park, Last Man Standing and Extreme Makeover Home Edition.I watch loads of documentries about history, evolution, space/universe, animals, chat shows (sorry to admit), property shows, nature, Panorama and Horizon etc.

Books:

Oh, I LOVE reading. Throw anything by Terry Pratchett my way and its bound to go down a storm! Also, the Duncton Wood books by William Horwood. Oh, and the 'Song of Ice and Fire' series by George R R Martin and all the Piers Anthony 'Magic of Xanth' novels. I love 'My Family and Other Animals' by Gerald Durrel.

Heroes:

David Attenborough. The Lilt Parrot.

To ALL my friends.

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to me...

Perhaps someone out there will like these as much as me.

Reading through these qoutes touched me. The likes of Einstein, Da Vinci and Pythagoras expressing their opinions from such a long time ago left me feeling proud that I am trying to follow in the foot...
