Painting and art in general,NPR.....Ilove it for many reasons, It's a great memorie of my dad from when I was a little gal, tuna sandwitches on sourdough, weed, blackjack in Vegas, the drive to Vegas, my bed, my new mac!!!lots of blush and lipstick, drinking coffee and tea with friends or my AM bagel, long car rides up the 101 freeway by myself at night coupled with lots of music, long walks with me and my IPOD, music stores, book stores, stores filled with tons of big earrings for me to buy, going out for dinner and drinks, taking naps on my living room floor where the sun peaks through, making people feel beautiful through the art of makeup, Buying makeup and more makeup. Coral lipstick is my own personal heaven. reading, the phone, cooking, Making Niveen laugh....the best laugh. Kissing.....and more kissing. Just being crazy and random. My biggest intrest right now?......Fearless....I want to practice my art of just saying FUCK IT and being fearless...just wait, everyone else will follow. Sales on great shoes and boots are always a big plus in my book.
I want to meet cool girls to chill with that are not full of tons of EGO. Other makeup artists that are serious about there career's and love their craft. People that love music. Cute boys are always a plus! I want to meet guys that are down to earth and smart. Funny and into music. I don't want you to buy me a drink....I don't give a shit about the car you drive....or your money....or the cool D list Celebs you chill with. I want to be adored. Make me laugh, and laugh, and laugh some more. That person that sits across from you at dinner that makes everything taste better. A person I can fight with and then have a great time making up.......shit...I don't even know anymore
There is way to much to say about this subject. It depends what type of mood I am in when I pick what I want to be listening to. I think that RAP'S roots have been twisted and made into a mochery. "We" on a daily basis are forced to listed to this bubelgum bullshit that feels like a growing infection in my ear. So sorry if I am gonna offend anyone out there that sweats 50 cent but lets really look at what the man spits out. He has been shot 9 times and all I hear him screaming about on the radio all day long is PUSSY. How to get it, work it , and keep it. That's deep! To me a rappers beats should support his song, not make it. Prime examples: Mobb Deep, NAS, 2Pac, Biggie, Eminem, Snoop, DRE, NWA,Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifa, DJ E-Z Rock and Rob Bass, Cypress Hill, Talib Kweli, Common, Mary J. Blige, Wu Tang(Liquid Swords...dope as hell!) They all have great stories to tell. And they are always changing it up. I'll step off my soap box on that shit now. Anyone who loves hiphop has got 2 check out Cornerstone mixtapes.Other music: Led Zepplin, POE, Aerosmith,Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Aretha Franklin,STP, Guns'N'Roses, Etta James, Johnny Cash, Alana Davis, Madonna, The killers, The Pretenders, Portishead, Michelle Branch, Whitney Houston, Coldplay, The Bravery, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, Lenny Kravitz, Urban Outfitters CD Sampler (All of them), Janet Jackson, Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Alanis Morissette, Bebel Gilberto, Counting Crows, Tori Amos, Foo Fighters, Fiona Apple, SADE, Sarah McLachlan, Snow Patrol, Moby, Sneaker Pimps, Train, Mariah Carey, The Cardigans, John Legend, Everything But The Girl, Daniel Bedingfeild, Natasha Bedingfeild, Bonnie Raitt, Pat Benatar, The GoGo's, Toby Lightman, Bijork, Garbage, Aaliyah, Jane's Addiction, Beck, The Faint, Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie, Elton John, Depeche Mode, The Postal Service, soundtrack to Empire Records, Dirty Dancing, KIDS, The Show, Romeo & Juliet, Natural Born Killers, RIZE, Center Stage, Love Jones,KT Tunstall, Lots and Lots of soundtracks......I still sweat Debbie Gibson
I love mob flicks (Heat, Goodfellas, Casino etc.). Natural Born Killers, 25th hour, American History X, Fight Club (Edward Norton in general), David Lynch movies, Austin Powers, KIDS, J-LO flicks (everyone says she can't act but I think she is great), SINGLES, Pretty Woman, Can't Buy Me Love (best 80's movie), GIA, Dirty Dancing, 8 Mile, Juice, Boys in the Hood, Above The Rim, Menace to Society.
The only thing I really love to watch is The Sopranos. Everything else is shit!
Anything by Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Less Than Zero). Anything by Elizabeth wurtzel (Radical Sanity, More-Now-Again, Prozac Nation). She is amazing! Anne Rice. There are no words to describe how slam'n she is. She makes the act of being a vampire sound better than having sex. Shel Silverstine (Where The Sidewalk Ends, The Light in the Attic, Where the Wild Things Are). Hip Hop Immortals. This book illustrates some of the best and greatest in hip hop music. Makeup books in general but especially Kevyn Acuion and Francois Nars. ZINC magazine is also another fave. of mine for great spreads on makeup and hair. Coffee tabel books such as works of Jackson Pollock and Chuck Close. I love Picaso!
At the top of the list is always my grandma. She made it through on of the worst concentration camps in World War 2. Her mother, father, and sister got sent to the gas chambers and she made it out. She went on to be a surgeon and a pilot. She is true definition of a soldier. Elan B....Makeup artist to so many stars and my personal mentor....you my dear fucking rock!My mentor Maryanne! If there had to be someone that I was to model myself to be like in life it would be her. She is upfront and blunt. I love honesty. She gets life...she gets me. She dos't let me skate by in life and front. No doubt Alana Davis! If all of you out there in music lovers land don't know who this chick is you need to go cop her CDs. Music can be a huge uplift in times of desparation. Whether something is really going on or just blown up and fabricated in our minds. Her stuff helped me through some rough times.
