Enjoying life, there's no point in living unless you're havin' fun. Affect everyone and everything around you, leave an impression (hopefully a positive one!) but remember: Don't worry about the things you CAN'T change. Make as many friends as you can, the more people you know, the more people you have to draw upon - but there is then more people to draw upon you as well, so be prepared.
- my $.02 -
Creating - I love to make things of raw material, wood, fiberglass, plexiglass, metal, clay, whatever. If I can be creative, I can be happy. I just wish I had the means to do half of the things I wanted to do!
Partying - I love to throw parties, going out to clubs, meeting new people, etc. I'de really like to own my own club some day. I've always had plans and ideas for neat parties and clubs and have always had great reviews amongst those that have attended... so, if I could find some sort of financial backing, I'm sure it will be a success!! *Yes, this is something I'm working on! - It will be a while though.*
Learning - I love to learn. I like knowing as much as I can, talking to new people and seeing their views and ideas, being exposed to things I would've been blind to had someone not shown me. If knowledge wasn't power, then I'd take knowledge any day.
I'd like to meet:
Interesting, driven, yet still young at heart people.
Anyone really that's a typically positive person.
Successful people with a sense of humor would be ideal I guess, becuse that's what I aim to be.
I would love to have met Einstein as well, just to see what made him tick, what his personality was like... anyone of strong positive influence and/or anyone of very high yet modest intelligence I suppose.View All Friends | View Blog | Add Comment
my BLOG is now here: Joe's BLOG
Some of my favorite pics that I've taken:
Music:
Lots of types of music, electronic to classical, rock to new age, interesting blends of music as well. The only types of music I don't really care for *though on occasion I'll hear something I do like* are country and well, languages I can't understand :P
Movies:
To list these would take quite some time... From blockbuster hits to indy movies, B movies to home made flicks, no point in sitting here for hours listing them all :P
Television:
I don't watch much TV, on the occasion I actually watch it, I watch programs like Heroes, X-files (the first few seasons), CSI, 24, Mythbusters, Colbert Report, stuff like that.
Books:
Bleh, books are boring... I'd rather be outside doing something, and if I'm not outside, I'd be researching something on "teh internets" - like alternative power, turbo-jet engines (I plan on building one actually), new technologies, etc.
Heroes:
My grandfather, Stuart Higgs - Built and maintains his own private Hydro-Electric power plant that powers his house and 2 of my uncles' houses. He's won awards for the highest efficiency from such a plant. No longer able to walk due to suffering from severe MS, he still finds ways to work on the plant across the river, by remotes he has installed and an occasional person sent over and guided via walkie-talkie.
My mother, Cathy Higgs/Allain - Being the strongest person I know. She's survived 2 kidney transplants, cancer, cellulitis, and even died once for a couple of minutes. Years of hospitals, medications, testing, etc. and has still managed to keep her spirit up and keep her creativity in everything she does, from glass bead making (seen at NewVintageArts.com ) and painting to reapulstering and gardening.
