Novacane was formed in 2006 when three passionate music students from Geelong, decided to form a band that played the kind of music that they wanted to hear but no one was making in the metal dominated town.
With Guitarist/Vocalist Brenton Mortelliti at the front of the attack the sound started to be compared to “Rage Against the Machine fused with Nirvana and the vocals of early Thom Yorke†and Novacane started to find a sound that was unique.
After months of writing Novacane were ready to take the stage and immediately became known and remembered for their aggressive stage presence fuelled by heavy riff sections which Rafik Zeffane’s distorted bass lines defined.
These heavy sections were constrasted with slow mellow tom based and funk inspired beats by drummer Jack Nicol which added a new dimension and an even more original sound.
