in Brooklyn, New York July 1986. As a child, movies were always his favorite form of entertainment. He knew he wanted to be part of it in the future. With both parents born in The Dominican Republic and being raised in a Hispanic and Jamaican community, he had music constantly surrounding him.
As a teenager he would help organize school plays and act in the drama club. He first got behind the camera when he entered high school at Benjamin Banneker Academy. He shot many class films and Public Service Announcements. At the age of 17, he realized how much music had an effect on his films and creativity.
He began to seriously get into doing music videos. As much as he loves films, he felt music videos allowed him to be more free and creatively abstract. He does videos on his own to gain experience and credibility for his filmmaking career.
He uses the alias name "The Prime Juvenile" because at such a young age he feels his
"creativity is in its prime".
Open to ALL kinds of music (Hip Hop, Reggae, RnB, Pop, Rock, Latin) lately, little by little Adonis has been establishing himself as an Underground Director for the talented but uninvested. Literally acting as a one man crew, Adonis has Shot, Edit, Lit and Directed the majority of his own videos. And he always finds a way to make his visions come to life while using such low-budgets (or no budget at all). Its what he calls "Hardcore-Guerilla" style.
Adonis is always willing to learn more, through experience and being mentored in any form, as he knows he has a long way to go before he gets to where he wants to be.
Just turning 21 years old, Adonis is now entering his 4th and final year at The School Of Visual Arts, has alot of work under his belt (but never enough as he likes to think) and has been interning for the past 2 years with the highly established video director, Little X. He has also work with directors Benny Boom and Justin Francis (of The Saline Project)The crazy drive and passion of this young artist has no limits and will stop at nothing.
