Omaris has danced since she was a little girl; she always performed in her family’s reunions as if it was a normal thing for a child to do. She dreamed of becoming a Ballerina, but more than that, she always felt dancing as a necessary element to live. When she was twenty years old, Omaris fell for a Dance she had never seen before. Its customs, the beauty of its steps but specially its music entered into Omaris’s heart to never leave her: the Middle Eastern Dance. She started studying it with Denisse Khalil in Puerto Rico in 2002; after six months, she became her assistant. Also, she studied with Valerick of Puerto Rico. Omaris started teaching classes and dancing professionally in private events and restaurants while living there. Her technique evolved specially due the classes she taught, where she had to correct her students but more important correct herself.Omaris is originally from the Dominican Republic and currently lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida. She moved there in 2005 where she continued participating in Haflas and dancing in restaurants. In 2007 she started teaching in Hip Expressions Dance Studio.Omaris studied Advertisement in her country, the Dominican Republic, and also Professional Photography in Puerto Rico. Though she loves Advertisement and also enjoys taking pictures, all the jobs she has ever had have been related with Middle Eastern Dance. Omaris has attended several Workshops in Tampa, Orlando and Miami and has kept teaching herself observing and practicing. She’s acknowledged for her teaching method, her natural and elegant movements and her passion when dancing. Omaris is a natural born dancer who always dances with her heart.
