Classic Rock, various J-Rock groups such as Girugamesh, Miyavi, Judy and Mary, Shiina Ringo, Orange Range, Asian Kung Fu Generation various J-Pop artists such as Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki, Under17, Koda Kumi, Ai Otsuka, Yuki Kimura, and a lot of video game music, especially that done by Powerglove. Also included is Ratatat, Kovenant, Freezepop, Slayer, Captain Jack, Yahel, DJ Qbert, DJ Shadow, Dragon Ash, Tool, The Beatles, and, on occasion, System of a Down. Movies:
Well, there's a ton of these. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, anything involving Godzilla, anything Miyazaki, Hard Boiled, Hero, Zatoichi, the Lone Wolf and Cub series, Roxanne, The Jerk, A whole ton of other stuff. I love the original Bond films, and I really liked Kung Fu Hustle, Invincible Pole Fighter, Returner, Versus, and Equilibrium. Die Hard and Aliens were good, and I like The Omen too. It's really a huge mixed bag comprising of good action, foreign, and drama films. Oh, and I like war movies too, Platoon and Saving Private Ryan in particular. And Full Metal Jacket. Clerks, Clerks II also.
Television:
Paranoia Agent, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, The Venture Bros., Tom Goes to the Mayor, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Mythbusters, Avatar: The Last Airbender, MXC, and other random things. Essentially anything from [adult swim] as well. oh, and House. House House HOUSE.
Books:
Red Dragon, Shogun, Ender's Game, LOTR, Harry Potter, Redwall, Nam, Dune, A Book of Five Rings, Neuromancer, To Kill a Mockingbird, Deathwatch, and a number of other books including a nonfiction piece detailing the history of the Yakuza from its beginnings in the Edo Period to modern day Japan.
