Hmmm. I listed most of those in my "about me". Music. That's the major interest. I play out often, so I don't really even KNOW what my "other interests" are at this point. Let's see. When I'm not at my real job and not at a gig, I would say I love to lay down on the couch and watch t.v. haha... I do love going to the diner with friends to catch up on the week's strange events. That is always interesting. Yeah, that's about it. Music, t.v., diner. Yeah.
I'd like to meet:
People to share stories with. Weirdos who aren't dangerous. Only people who are funny.... I have high standards in that department! I take my comedy very very seriously.
Music:
I love creating music, but listening is good also. Here are my favorites, not necessarily in this order........King Crimson: they are, and have been, my main band for about 8 years. They are my heroes. They are amazing in every way. Tony Levin: a bass player for many, he is the steam behind the engine of many songs and you don't even realize that he's the reason the song is so good (www.papabear.com). I have always loved Cyndi Lauper, as I connected with her music and her life. Of course, I was about 11 when she first hit the scene, but I am happy with which way her music turned.. it's much more soulful these days, albeit less popular. I have been recently REALLY diggin on System of a Down. Other people I like: Eva Cassidy, Cat Stevens, Carol King, Etta, Billie, Ella, Janis, Jimi, Jesse "lonecat" Fuller, Ulf Magnet, Beastie Boys, Bonnie Raitt (older stuff), Rod Stewart (oldest stuff), Daniel Lanois (sigh),Reid Paley (alarming!) Spock's Beard, Michael Hedges, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, any old school rap... Kurtis Blow, Doug E. Fresh, LL Cool J, haha... yeah... there's too many people too list and I can't think!
Movies:
Firstly: Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, For Your Consideration
That said: Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums, Happiness, Adaptation, Drowning Mona, Tommy Boy, Dumb and Dumber, Crumb, The Departed, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter(s), The Goonies (haha), Matrix (ONLY the first one. Did not like the rest), Fight Club, Oceans Eleven, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Casino, Goodfellas, The Godfather (1 and 2), Bandits, Freaks, Running With Scissors, Borat, very nice..... ok, this is boring me. I like most any movie, so long as it's made well, or is funny. Oh, and how could I forget: What's Eating Gilbert Grape!
Television:
I LOVE TIVO.
Been watching The Office. Been mourning Arrested Development. Re-runs on G4... I'll take it. The Riches seems promising. I love that Izzard fellow.I love Medium. I also fall victim to such horror shows as Rock of Love, Flavor of Love and the longest and most ridiculous title, "Scott Baio is 45 and Single"....I LOVE THE SOUP..... it's just genious.
Books:
Anything David Sedaris or Laurie Notaro, I love...... also into Conversation with God. Interesting stuff.
Heroes:
Dan Gohr.... Other than that, the Jury's still out... maybe I'm thinking about it too hard. I took Ben Franklin off because I heard he was racist and horrible to women. Is this true? I don't know. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Is anyone a hero? Can I do a super-hero? Aqua Man. Because he can speak in sonar.
