About Me

Beautiful Nothing - like a walk in a dark park during the early hours of the morning after three cups of coffee, a mild come-down, a failure in a relationship and a lifetime of thoughts going through your head.
Beautiful Nothing has achieved their goal of being a band with an edge. The experience of Beautiful Nothing draws the listener deep into their world using powerfully concise, yet introspective lyrics. The audiences reaction to the bands strong lyrical presence is amplified by chanting rhythms of droning psychedelia, powerful interlocking guitars, heavy percussion and impacting melodies youll be humming to both the office and the grave. The intensity of the music draws its listeners out of their own existence and into a world high above the everyday, yet somehow; the music is simultaneously interwoven within the trivialities of the everyday routine. It is within the seemingly insignificance of life that the magic of Beautiful Nothing is born; where art and entertainment collide. And it is within these often overlooked, nothings that the beautiful things in our world lay.
The band has been playing together for over five years and has released three CDs. When awarded with a $1000.00 FACTOR grant to produce their debut CD The Waste, The Dream, the End, the band really began to realize the passion and devotion they all had for their craft. The follow up was a five song EP entitled, Dreamers Have The Answers, which earned them some much deserved recognition with their hook driven arrangement "Sordiaire" being featured on garageband.com which ranked 6th out of over 5000 bands for seven weeks straight. The song still has the crowd chanting its lyrics at live performances. Now, with the release of their new full length LP, Find Yourself Lost, the band has earned themselves a reputation of being one of the most overwhelmingly innovative bands to come out of the area. Considering the sound quality and production, one would have never guessed the CD was recorded in the bands basement studio. And, with their potent mix of art and entertainment, Beautiful Nothings live show is as entertaining as they come. Their performances have won them first place at Centrals Battle of the Bands, the 2004 Youth Fest and most recently at the Mohawk College Battle of the Bands to name a few. The raw energy they portray on stage has lead them to open for well established bands such as The Marble Index, The Black Maria, Jet Set Satellite, Not By Choice and one of Canadas greatest live acts, The Trews. The group is also very active in organizing and promoting concerts where enthusiastic audiences of over 300 people consistently attend. Beautiful Nothings dedication to their music, their powerful songwriting, and their authority over a live audience ensures them nothing but massive success in the future to come.
This 5-member group consists of brothers Luke Ludgate (guitar), Shane Ludgate (drums), Anthony Ludgate (vocals) and long-time friends James Featherstone (bass) and Mike Greggain (guitar). The five met while students at Burlingtons Central High School and have been collaborating on their music ever since.
Beautiful Nothing isnt just a band they are an experience!
